    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Conflict; building project; Transaction cost economics theory; systems theory; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : Relay networks and cooperative transmission have spurred considerable interest in recent years, promising performance improvements in, e.g., system capacity, robustness and transmission rate. READ MORE

  2. 2. Improved Techniques for Retransmission and Relaying in Wireless Systems

    Author : Chaitanya V. K. Tumula; Erik G. Larsson; Tobias J. Oechtering; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Hybrid-ARQ; relaying schemes; superposition coding; 3GPP- LTE; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The last three decades have seen significant advances in the wireless communication field. As the data rates of wireless systems are increasing, the demand for mobile services also is increasing rapidly. Like other natural resources, radio spectrum suitable for mobile wireless communications is also limited. READ MORE

  3. 3. Coding Schemes for Relay Networks

    Author : Majid Nasiri Khormuji; Mikael Skoglund; Gerhard Kramer; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Relay networks; capacity; decode-and-forward; amplify-andforward; compress-and-forward; nonlinear relaying; noisy network coding; hybrid relaying; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : Cooperative communications by pooling available resources—for example, power and bandwidth—across the network, is a distributed solution for providing robust wireless transmission. Motivated by contemporary applications in multi-hop transmission and ad hoc networks, the classical three-node relay channel (RC) consisting of a source–destination pair and a relay node has received a renewed attention. 4. 4. Downlink Resource Allocation in Cooperative Wireless Networks

    Author : Jingya Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; precoding design; load balancing; relaying; imperfect channel state information; imperfect synchronization; Coordinated multi-point transmission; I Q imbalance; resource allocation; fractional frequency reuse;

    Abstract : Wireless cooperative networks, which is based on exploiting coordination among multiple access nodes, has been considered as a promising approach to improve the spectral efficiency, reduce the energy consumption, and extend the network coverage of future wireless communication systems. In practice, the actual benefit of multi-node cooperation is affected by a variety of factors, including the quality of channel state information (CSI), the constraints on the feedback and backhaul links, hardware impairments, resource allocation and data processing schemes. 5. 5. Live Streaming in P2P and Hybrid P2P-Cloud Environments for the Open Internet

    Author : Amir H. Payberah; Seif Haridi; Anwitaman Datta; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Peer-to-Peer (P2P) live media streaming is an emerging technology that reduces the barrier to stream live events over the Internet. However, providing a high quality media stream using P2P overlay networks is challenging and gives raise to a number of issues: (i) how to guarantee quality of the service (QoS) in the presence of dynamism, (ii) how to incentivize nodes to participate in media distribution, (iii) how to avoid bottlenecks in the overlay, and (iv) how to deal with nodes that reside behind Network Address Translators gateways (NATs).
