6. Towards sustainable urban transportation : Test, demonstration and development of fuel cell and hybrid-electric buses
Abstract : Several aspects make today’s transport system non-sustainable: • Production, transport and combustion of fossil fuels lead to global and local environmental problems. • Oil dependency in the transport sector may lead to economical and political instability. READ MORE

7. Study of a Pneumatic Hybrid aided by a FPGA Controlled Free Valve Technology System
Abstract : Urban traffic involves frequent acceleration and deceleration. During deceleration, the energy previously used to accelerate the vehicle is mainly wasted on heat generated by the friction brakes. If this energy that is wasted in traditional IC engines could be saved, the fuel economy would improve. READ MORE

8. Hybrid sterility and genetic incompatibilities in Ficedula flycatchers
Abstract : Although the theory behind the mechanisms generating intrinsic post-zygotic isolation is well established, very few concrete examples of genetic incompatibilities have been described, especially in vertebrates. Consequently, our understanding of the evolutionary forces shaping the appearance of genetic incompatibilities between natural populations and the overall role of genetic incompatibilities in the speciation process is limited. 9. Novel writing and moral philosophy as aspects of a single struggle : Iris Murdoch's hybrid novels
Abstract : This investigation pursues a thesis, namely that moral philosopher and novelist Iris Murdoch was a writer of hybrid novels. Murdoch’s novels are hybrid constructions where she tries to make reflections on moral intuitions discernible and experienced within the novels’ own “system”. READ MORE

10. The Four-Quadrant Transducer System : for Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Abstract : In this thesis a hybrid electrical powertrain called the Four Quadrant Transducer (4QT) has been evaluated through different driving simulations, which later resulted in the manufacture of a prototype. The simulation of a 12 metric ton distribution truck showed that the 4QT system can reduce the fuel consumption by approximately 30 % during the FTP75 drive cycle. READ MORE
