1. Modelling Hydrological and Hydrodynamic Processes in Lake Tana Basin, Ethiopia
Abstract : Lake Tana Basin is of significant importance to Ethiopia concerning water resources aspects and the ecological balance of the area. The growing high demands in utilizing the high potentials of water resource of the Lake to its maximal limit, pictures a disturbing future for the Lake. READ MORE

2. Biomass gasification in fluidized bed gasifiers : Modeling and simulation
Abstract : Using woody biomass as a resource for production of biofuel, heat and power through gasification has been studied for years. In order to reduce the cost of operating and to design the full-scale gasification plant developing a general model to be applicable for different ranges of input data with acceptable level of accuracy, is needed. 3. Blue-green stormwater systems for citywide flood mitigation : Monitoring, conceptualization, modeling, and evaluation
Abstract : Considering the growth in urbanization, leading to an increase in impervious surfaces, and the changing climate, enhancing the intensity and frequency of rainfall events, existing urban drainage networks—separate or combined sewer systems—are presumed to face substantially elevated hydraulic loads, causing pluvial floods in urban areas. There are several ways to address these challenges. READ MORE

4. Numerical modeling of dielectrophoresis
Abstract : We investigate the dielectrophoretic separation of microparticles. Two different models are formulated in two characteristic time scales. The first model mainly accounts for the orientation behavior and rotational motion of non-spheric microparticles. The concept of effective charge is suggested to calculate the finite size non-spheric particles. READ MORE

5. Exploring Polymer-Shelled Microbubbles: Detection Modeling and Application
Abstract : Ultrasound imaging (US) is widely used in clinical practice. Given the low cost and easy access to the ultrasound machine, US has a great potential to improve the health care condition for the majority of the population in the world. The US could be significantly improved by injecting ultrasound contrast agents to opacify the bloodstream. READ MORE
