  1. 1. Electrochemical reduction of protons and organic molecules in hydrogen technologies : Liquid Organic Hydrogen carrier and Hydrogen Evolution

    Author : Hamid Ghorbani Shiraz; Magnus Berggren; Xavier Crispin; Ola Wendt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrogen Storage; LOHC; Hydrogen Evolution; Electrocatalyst;

    Abstract : In accordance with preventable actions to mitigate the effect of climate change in the modern societal applications, renewable energy is an unavoidable and decisive factor in the energy industry. The energy sources that offer non-depleted and environment-friendly pathways for the energy sector are in focus. READ MORE

  2. 2. Hydrogen in nominally anhydrous silicate minerals : Quantification methods, incorporation mechanisms and geological applications

    Author : Franz A. Weis; Henrik Skogby; Peter Lazor; Jannick Ingrin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NAMs; clinopyroxene; hydrogen; hydrothermal pressure; magmatic water content; zoisite; OH-dipole; Raman spectroscopy; FTIR; luminescence; proton-proton scattering;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to increase our knowledge and understanding of trace water concentrations in nominally anhydrous minerals (NAMs). Special focus is put on the de- and rehydration mechanisms of clinopyroxene crystals in volcanic systems, how these minerals can be used to investigate the volatile content of mantle rocks and melts on both Earth and other planetary bodies (e. 3. 3. Development of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics Tools : From Hydrogen Evolution to Cell Division in Cyanobacteria

    Author : Fernando Lopes Pinto; Peter Lindblad; Röbbe Wünschiers; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cyanobacteria; hydrogen; RNA; bioinformatics; RT-PCR; RACE; transcription; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik; Molecular Biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Abstract : The use of fossil fuels presents a particularly interesting challenge - our society strongly depends on coal and oil, but we are aware that their use is damaging the environment. Currently, this awareness is gaining momentum, and pressure to evolve towards an energetically cleaner planet is very strong. READ MORE

  4. 4. Synchrotron radiation studies of gas phase molecules : from hydrogen to DNA sugars

    Author : Gemma Vall-llosera; Elisabeth Rachlew; Stacey Sorensen; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; KTH thesis; synchrotron radiation; gas phase; bio molecules; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylfysik;

    Abstract : This thesis summarises experimental results on the molecular spectroscopy of gas phase molecules excited by synchrotron radiation in the VUV and soft X-ray regions. We have used three different detection techniques, photon induced fluorescence spectroscopy, photoionisation mass spectroscopy and near edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy to study molecular deuterium, hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, methanol, pyridine, pyridazine, pyrimidine, pyrazine, s-triazine, and 2-deoxy-D-ribose, the last one also known as the DNA sugar. 5. 5. Thermodynamics of Hydrogen in Confined Lattice

    Author : Xin Xiao; Hjörvarsson Björgvin; Max Wolff; Astrid Pundt; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermodynamics hydrogen superlattice;

    Abstract : Three of the most important questions concerning hydrogen storage in metals are how much hydrogen can be absorbed, how fast it can be absorbed (or released) and finally how strongly the hydrogen is bonded. In transition metals hydrogen occupies interstitial sites and the absorption as well as desorption of hydrogen can be fast. READ MORE
