  2. 2. Hydrometallurgical Treatment of Neodymium Magnet Waste

    Author : Marino Gergoric; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; recycling; rare-earth elements; leaching; Keywords: neodymium magnets; solvent extraction;

    Abstract : Recent decades have seen a considerable increase in the usage of rare-earth elements (REEs) in modern technologies and green energy sources. Recycling of REEs out of end-of-life products and E-scrap has become an alternative to mining them out of primary ores due to their supply risk in some countries and the development towards circular economies. 3. 3. Determination of protolytes by flow procedures : applications to liquors from the hydrometallurgical nickel industry

    Author : Isel Gertrudis Cortés Nodarse; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The general intention of this work is to contribute inreplacing complicated and time consuming titration methods foracid/base determination in cases where a rapid answer is morevaluable than a very high accuracy. The versatility of FlowInjection Analysis (FIA) is utilised for the determination ofprotolyte compounds, considering their role in our daily lifeas well as in science and technology. READ MORE

  4. 4. Hydrometallurgical upgrading of a tetrahedrite-rich copper concentrate

    Author : Samuel Ayowole Awe; Gouzhu Ye; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : Removal of impurity elements in copper metallurgy is one of the major problems encountered today since pure copper ore reserves are becoming exhausted and the resources of unexploited ores often contain relatively high amounts of antimony, arsenic, mercury and bismuth, which need to be eliminated. The present work aims at pre-treating a tetrahedrite rich complex copper sulphide concentrate by selective dissolution of the impurities, therefore, upgrading it for pyrometallurgical processing. 5. 5. Landfill mining approach for resource recovery from glass dumps into the circular economy

    Author : Richard Mutafela; William Hogland; Lennart Mårtensson; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Resource recovery; landfill mining; hazardous waste; hydrometallurgical extraction; geophysical mapping; circular economy; Återvinning av resurser; gruvdrift; farligt avfall; hydrometallurgisk utvinning; geofysisk kartläggning; cirkulär ekonomi; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Abstract : Landfills and open dumps have been the most cost-effective waste disposal option, resulting in over 500,000 landfills and dumps in the EU alone. They pose significant environmental and health threats due to emission of toxic gases and release of persistent contaminants to soil and groundwater, triggering a considerable global economic impact annually.
