  1. 21. A search for solar dark matter with the IceCube neutrino telescope

    Author : Gustav Wikström; Klas Hultqvist; John Carr; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dark matter; neutrinos; neutrino telescopes; IceCube; Astroparticle physics; Astropartikelfysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Dark matter particles in the form of supersymmetric Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) could accumulate in the centre of the Sun because of gravitational trapping. Pair-wise annihilations of WIMPs could create standard model particles out of which neutrinos could reach the Earth. READ MORE

  2. 22. A Search for Solar Neutralino Dark Matter with the AMANDA-II Neutrino Telescope

    Author : Thomas Burgess; Christian Walck; Alessandro de Angelis; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dark matter; AMANDA; Supersymmetry; WIMP; Neutralino; Neutrino; IceCube; Astroparticle physics; Astroparticle physics; Astropartikelfysik; Physics; fysik;

    Abstract : A relic density of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) remaining from the Big Bang constitutes a promising solution to the Dark Matter problem. It is possible for such WIMPs to be trapped by and accumulate in gravitational potentials of massive dense objects such as the Sun. READ MORE

  3. 23. Simulation and Design of a Radial-Radial Four-Quadrant Transducer for Hybrid Electric Vehicles

    Author : Erik Nordlund; KTH; []
    Keywords : Electrical Machines; Hybrid Vehicles;

    Abstract : This report is my licentiate thesis at the Royal Instituteof Technology, (KTH) in Stockholm. The work was done at thedepartment of Electrical Engineering, division of ElectricalMachines and Power Electronic.An internal combustion engine (ICE) in a conventionalvehicle operates rarely at optimum efficiency. 4. 24. A numerical investigation of energy conversions in geophysical boundary layers

    Author : Patrik Andreasson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : The detailed energy conversions in turbulent geophysical boundary layers are examined and quantified. The governing transport equations are solved by utilizing turbulence modelling. Different turbulence closures have been adopted for the boundary layers examined. READ MORE

  5. 25. Precision cooling for C02 reduction

    Author : Sudharsan Vasudevan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; semi- mechanistic models; internal combustion engine; coolant jacket; active nucleation site density; boiling regimes; subcooled flow boiling;

    Abstract : Global climate is adversely affected by increasing emissions of carbon dioxide and other green-house gases. The road transport sector contributes significantly to these emissions. READ MORE
