6. Late Quaternary ice sheet history and dynamics in central and southern Scandinavia
Abstract : Recent work suggests an emerging new paradigm for the Scandinavian ice sheet (SIS); one of a dynamically fluctuating ice sheet. This doctoral research project explicitly examines the history and dynamics of the SIS at four sites within Sweden and Norway, and provides results covering different time periods of glacial history. 7. Numerical modelling of the Cordilleran ice sheet
Abstract : This doctoral dissertation presents a study of the glacial history of the North American Cordillera using numerical ice sheet modelling calibrated against field evidence. This area, characterized by the steep topography of several mountain ranges separated by large inter-montane depressions, was once covered by a large-scale ice mass: the former Cordilleran ice sheet. 8. Stability of the free-surface problem arising in ice-sheet- and glacier modeling : Numerical investigation and stabilization
Abstract : This thesis consists of two papers dealing with a stabilization method for free-surface flows. The method was initially developed to stabilize mantle-convection simulations, but is in this work extended to ice-sheet- and glacier modeling. READ MORE

9. Ice Sheet, Climate, and Landscape Interactions in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica
Abstract : The impact of glaciers and ice sheets on the subglacial landscape are of fundamental importance for studies of glacial history and landscape development, both in previously glaciated areas and in areas that are glaciated today. The thesis concerns the present and past erosive capacity of the ice sheet in Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica. READ MORE

10. Remote sensing of supra-glacial lakes on the west Greenland Ice Sheet
Abstract : The Greenland Ice Sheet is the largest ice sheet in the northern hemisphere. Ongoing melting of the ice sheet, resulting in increased mass loss relative to the longer term trend, has raised concerns about the stability of the ice sheet. Melt water generated at the surface is temporarily stored in supra-glacial lakes on the ice sheet. READ MORE
