  1. 1. Moments of lobbying : an ethnographic study of meetings between lobbyists and politicians

    Author : Camilla Nothhaft; Göran Eriksson; Mats Eriksson; Øyvind Ihlen; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; lobbying; Brussels; communication; interaction; shadowing; ethnography; strategies; organizing principles; impression management; relations; Media and Communication Studies; Medie- och kommunikationsvetenskap;

    Abstract : The aim of this study is to define and further the understanding of the practice of lobbying as it manifests in the participants’ interactions with each other and to identify its specific conditions (rules, standards, traits).A research overview shows that lobbying as a political phenomenon is well researched, but that the action per se tends to been taken for granted as ‘talking’. 2. 2. Moments on a City Bus : Micro-sociology of Non-verbal Interaction in Urban Bus-riding

    Author : Magdalena Vieira; Sandra Torres; Elin Thunman; Philip Lalander; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; public places; mundane; non-verbal interaction; interaction moments; gestures; homogeneous heterogeneous interaction; micro-sociology; Goffman; bus-riding; riders; time; space; bodies; interaction norms; structured participant observation; fieldnotes; territories; involvement; rituals; Sociologi; Sociology;

    Abstract : This thesis seeks to contribute to research on social interaction in public (and semi-public) places in general, and research on non-verbal mundane interaction in these places in particular. By paying empirical attention to the non-verbal interaction that takes place in the context of riding a city bus – which is a contained and time-limited form of social activity – this thesis explores the theoretically rich source of information about mundane interaction that this specific social activity offers. 3. 3. Towards atomically resolved magnetic measurements in the transmission electron microscope : A study of structure and magnetic moments in thin films

    Author : Hasan Ali; Klaus Leifer; Peter Van Aken; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transmission electron microscope; thin films; magnetic moments; electron energy loss spectroscopy; simultaneous acquisition; electron magnetic circular dichroism; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot materialanalys; Engineering Science with specialization in Materials Analysis;

    Abstract : The magnetic properties of thin metallic films are significantly different from the bulk properties due to the presence of interfaces. The properties shown by such thin films are influenced by the atomic level structure of the films and the interfaces. READ MORE

  4. 4. Image dipoles and polarons in organic semiconductors

    Author : Yongzhen Chen; Mats Fahlman; Xianjie Liu; Yiqiang Zhan; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic electronics; Interface dipole; Polaron; Conjugated polymer; Photoelectron spectroscopy; N-type doping; Electron transport material;

    Abstract : The rapid development of organic electronics depends on the synthesis of new π-conjugated molecules/polymers and the exploration of fundamental physics. However, most of the efforts have been concentrated on the former, leading to a lack of thorough understanding of many important concepts, which will become the ultimate limiting factor for overall performance and applications. 5. 5. Moments of meaning – Towards an assessment of protective and risk factors for existential vulnerability among young women with mental ill-health concerns : A mixed methods project in clinical psychology of religion and existential health

    Author : Christina Lloyd; Valerie DeMarinis; Britt af Klinteberg; Wolfgang Rutz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Clinical population; depression; anxiety; existential anxiety; internalized symptoms; crisis of meaning; inhibition of aggression; identity; meaning-making; emotion regulation; sense of coherence; self-concept; disruption and repair; high affective moments; existential worldview function; ontological security; belonging; loneliness; sacredness; death; Religionspsykologi; Psychology of Religion;

    Abstract : The present sequential mixed-methods project was conducted in the area of clinical psychology of religion and existential health. The central aim of the project was to investigate clinically relevant areas for an assessment of protective and risk factors for existential vulnerability and dysfunctional existential meaning-making in a clinical sample of young women with mental ill-health concerns.
