1. Imidazole containing polymers complexed with Cu2+ and Zn2+
Abstract : An enormous problem for the shipping industry is fouling of marine organisms such as algae andbarnacles on the boat hull. The negative consequences for the society are both economical as well asenvironmental. To prevent fouling in general, biocides are typically incorporated directly into the paint. READ MORE

3. Hydrogen Bonded Phenols as Models for Redox-Active Tyrosines in Enzymes
Abstract : This thesis deals with the impact of hydrogen bonding on the properties of phenols. The possibility for tyrosine to form hydrogen bonds to other amino acids has been found to be important for its function as an electron transfer mediator in a number of important redox enzymes. READ MORE

4. Cross-linking and surface properties of EHEC and Starch -a QCM-D study
Abstract : The increase of the green house gases and the crude oil price has resulted in a willingness to change the raw material in many industries from petroleum-based polymers to natural polymers. One such natural polymer is starch. Today, starch is used in the glue industry in wallpaper pastes. READ MORE

5. Aromatic Allylation via Diazotization; Application in synthesis of heterocyclic compounds
Abstract : A new method for allylation of aromatic systems has been developed. A number of arylamines were converted via diazotization to the corresponding allylaromatic compounds using tert-butyl nitrite and an excess of allylic bromides with complete regioselectivity. Electron-withdrawing groups, in the aromatic moiety, were necessary to obtain good yields. READ MORE
