  1. 21. Development of metal complexes for water oxidation

    Author : Bao-Lin Lee; Björn Åkermark; Xiaodong Zou; Antoni Llobet; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : In an artificial version of photosynthesis, sunlight and water are used to produce fuels. Our research focuses on the bottleneck in this process, the photooxidation of water. In the course of developing a water oxidation catalyst, a number of metal complexes have been synthesised, characterised, and studied for catalytic activity. READ MORE

  2. 22. Enantio- and Regioselective Iridium-Catalyzed Hydrogenation of Olefins : From Development to Total Synthesis

    Author : Cristiana Margarita; Pher Andersson; Xavier Verdaguer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asymmetric hydrogenation; Iridium; Regioselectivity; Kinetic resolution; Total synthesis; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis concerns the iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of cyclic olefins and allylic alcohols for the preparation of useful chiral intermediates with various substitution patterns. The strategy provides stereocontrol for both non-functionalized as well as functionalized substrates and aims to be implemented in the stereoselective preparation of chiral building blocks having more than one stereocenter. 3. 23. Characterization of Endocrine Cells and Tumours in the Stomach

    Author : Apostolos V. Tsolakis; Eva T. Janson; Mats Stridsberg; Guida M. Portela-Gomes; Ola Nilsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Oncology; ECL cells; ghrelin cells; gastric endocrine tumours; VMAT-2; ghrelin; obestatin; HDC; U-MeImAA; Onkologi;

    Abstract : Enterochromaffin-like (ECL) and ghrelin cells, in the human gastric mucosa and in gastric endocrine tumours (GETs), were subclassified with respect to immunohistochemical reaction vs. vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT-2), ghrelin/obestatin, and histidine decarboxylase (HDC). 4. 24. Artificial Photosynthesis: Molecular Catalysts for Water Oxidation

    Author : Lei Wang; Licheng Sun; Hiroshi Imahori; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; artificial photosynthesis; water oxidation; ruthenium complexes; nickel complexes; cerium; photo-catalysts; photosensitizer; electrochemistry; immobilization.; Kemi; Chemistry; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Abstract : Artificial photosynthesis provides a promising solution to the future sustainable energy system. Water is the only suitably sufficient protons and electrons supplier by the reaction of water oxidation. However, this reaction is both kinetically and thermodynamically demanding, leading to a sluggish kinetics unless the introduction of a catalyst. READ MORE

  5. 25. Development of a novel methodology for the synthesis of oligonucleo-peptide conjugates

    Author : Simone Zaramella; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Antisense; Oligonucleotide-peptide conjugates; Solid-phase synthesis; Histidine; Protecting groups.;

    Abstract : Peptide-oligonucleotide conjugates constitute a new class of antisense molecules that exhibit improved biological activity over standard oligonucleotide analogues. Currently, these oligomeric bioconjugates are prepared by either solution- or solid-phase techniques. READ MORE
