  1. 6. Dynamics of Enzyme Immobilization in Mesoporous Silica Particles

    Author : Pegah Sadat Nabavi Zadeh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fluorescence spectroscopy; real-time monitoring.; fluorescence anisotropy; pore filling; Enzyme immobilization; mesoporous silica; kinetics; rotational mobility; rate of immobilization;

    Abstract : The focus of this thesis is placed on the dynamic behavior of proteins in confining environments which is studied as a scientific challenge for a deeper understanding of the immobilization mechanism and a better designing of enzyme immobilization in porous materials. Enzymes are immobilized in porous materials to improve the enzyme activity and simplify their purification from the product solution in biocatalytic applications. READ MORE

  2. 7. Immobilization of Enzymes in Mesoporous Silica for the Conversion of CO2 to Methanol

    Author : Milene Zezzi Do Valle Gomes; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biocatalysis; mesoporous silica; nitrogen sorption analysis; CO2 reduction; Immobilization;

    Abstract : Enzymes are powerful biomolecules able to catalyse chemical reactions under mild conditions and with high selectivity. However, their use in industrial processes is many times hindered due to their high costs and low stability. To overcome these problems the enzymes can be immobilized in an inert support material. 3. 8. The fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster GSTE6 and E7; characterization, immobilization and transgenic overexpression

    Author : Muhammad Aslam; Bengt Mannervik; Ralf Morgenstern; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Glutathione transferases; drosophila melanogaster; isothiocyanates; toxicity; immobilization; kinetics; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : Glutathione transferases (GSTs) are multifunctional enzymes that are universally distributed in most eukaryotes and prokaryotes. They play a pivotal role in the metabolism and detoxication of numerous endogenous and exogenous electrophiles by conjugating them with ubiquitous tripeptide glutathione. READ MORE

  4. 9. Immobilization of feruloyl esterases in mesoporous silica

    Author : Christian Thörn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mesoporous materials; Feruloyl esterases; Protein modeling; Biocatalysis; QCM-D; Hydroxycinnamic acids; Enzyme immobilization; Silica;

    Abstract : Feruloyl esterases are a class of enzymes that can be used as biocatalysts for the modification of bioactive hydroxycinnamic acids. In industry, enzyme immobilization is often necessary to stabilize the enzymes and to allow their reuse. READ MORE

  5. 10. Quantitation, Purification and Reconstitution of the Red Blood Cell Glucose Transporter GLUT1

    Author : Shusheng Zuo; Bengt Mannervik; Bengt Persson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Cholesterol; Cytochalasin B; Glucose; GLUT1; Hummel and Dreyer analysis; Immobilization; PEG 5000 -DSPE; Biomembrane; Proteoliposome; Quantitative frontal affinity chromatography; Red blood cell streptavidin-biotin immobilization; Sulfhydryl affinity chromatography; The modified micro-Bradford CaPE assay; MALDI-ToF-MS; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Abstract : The human glucose transporter GLUT1 facilitates glucose to be accumulated on the other side of the cell membrane. The functional state of GLUT1 is uncertain due to diversity of the reports. In this thesis, the activity of red blood cell GLUT1 was extensively studied to further characterize this protein. READ MORE
