  1. 21. Alkali-enhanced gasification of biomass : laboratory-scale experimental studies

    Author : Albert Bach-Oller; Kentaro Umeki; Viktor Scherer; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; alkali; biomass; gasification; tar; soot; potassium; char; syngas; enhanced; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Abstract : Gasification seeks to break carbonaceous materials into synthetic gas (CO+H2) which can be subsequently upgraded into valuable products. Thus gasification can be utilized to convert low grade biomass stocks into carbon-neutral chemicals heat and power. READ MORE

  2. 22. Health promoting factors in people with chronic musculoskeletal pain or with rheumatic diseases: a descriptive and interventional study

    Author : Susann Arvidsson; Bengt Fridlund; Stefan Bergman; Barbro Arvidsson; Birgitta Klang Söderkvist; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adult; chronic musculoskeletal pain; empowerment; health factors; HRQL; intervention; patient education; problem-based learning; rheumatic diseases; self-care; Caring sciences; Vårdvetenskap;

    Abstract : Aim: The overall aim of this thesis with a salutogenic approach was to describe health promoting factors in people with chronic musculoskeletal pain and in people with rheumatic diseases, and to evaluate the effects of an intervention study with a self-care promoting PBL-program for people with rheumatic diseases having chronic musculoskeletal pain, sleep disturbances and/or fatigue. Methods: This thesis is comprised of four samples: a randomly selected sample from a Swedish general population (study I) and three different samples containing people with rheumatic diseases registered at a hospital for rheumatic diseases in the southwest of Sweden (studies II, III and IV). Author : Gerd Waldhauser; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; memory control; inhibition; EEG; ERP; forgetting;

    Abstract : Forgetting can be highly functional when unwanted or irrelevant memory representations interfere with cognitive or motivational goals. Current theory assumes that forgetting can be brought about by the intentional or unintentional inhibition of interfering memory representations. READ MORE

  4. 24. The Competition for Forest Raw Materials in the Presence of Increased Bioenergy Demand : Partial Equilibrium Analysis of the Swedish Case

    Author : Elina Bryngemark; Patrik Söderholm; Anne Toppinen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; bioenergy; biodiversity; partial equilibrium model; forest raw materials; market competition; Sweden; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : Growing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions have implied an increased attention to the development of renewable energy sources. Bioenergy from forest biomass is expected to be one of the cornerstones in reaching renewable energy targets, especially in forest-rich countries such as Sweden. READ MORE
