11. Preclinical Development of New Alkylating Oligopeptides for Cancer Therapy
Abstract : Oligopeptides can be used to carry cytotoxic agents in cancer chemotherapy, using tumour-associated proteins as the molecular target for selectivity. During the seventies and eighties Peptichemio, a cocktail of six alkylating oligopeptides carrying m-L-sarcolysin, was investigated in a wide variety of human malignancies. READ MORE

12. Pluripotent Stem Cells of Embryonic Origin : Applications in Developmental Toxicology
Abstract : General toxicity evaluation and risk assessment for human exposure is essential when developing new pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Developmental toxicology is an important part of this risk assessment which consumes large resources and many laboratory animals. READ MORE

13. Aspects of aqueous humor dynamics : Studies in vivo and in vitro
Abstract : The purpose of the present investigation was to study the effects of PGF2α-l-isopropylester, some neuropeptides, and pharmacological agents on aqueous humor dynamics and intraocular pressure (IOP) in vivo and on adenylate cyclase activity in the nonpigmented ciliary epithelium (NPE) in vitro.Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) caused a dose-dependent increase in cAMP formation, indicating that the NPE contains receptors for PACAP and VIP coupled to adenylate cyclase activation. 14. On the autonomic control of the lower urinary tract. Functional and morphological aspects in the normal and the inflamed urinary bladder
Abstract : The regulation of urinary bladder function involves interplay of signalling systems. Disturbances in any of the interactive systems may result in lower tract dysfunction, which is often apparent to the patient by urge to void or by incontinence, irrespectively of the cause to the lower tract syndrome. 15. In vitro and in vivo studies of artemisinin endoperoxides
Abstract : Artemisinin and its semi-synthetic derivatives (eg. Artemether/ARM, artesunate/ARS, dihydroartemisinin/DHA) play an important role in combating malaria, and treatments containing an artemisinin derivative (artemisinin-based combination therapies, ACTs) are today the standard treatment worldwide for Plasmodium falciparum malaria.
