3. Quality of drug treatment in older people from a medical primary care perspective and according to indicators
Abstract : Background: Drug treatment in older people is particularly complex; the burden of disease increases by age, and patients in this age group are more sensitive to drug effects. We have demonstrated, in a randomized controlled trial, that a clinical pharmacist intervention reduces the incidence of revisits to hospital for patients aged 80 years or older admitted to an acute internal medicine ward.
