  1. 1. Cybersecurity Incident Response : A Socio-Technical Approach

    Author : Bilal Al Sabbagh; Stewart Kowalski; Louise Yngström; Mathias Ekstedt; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; cybersecurity incident response; SIEM; cybersecurity warning systems; socio-technical approach; organisation security culture; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the cybersecurity incident response problem using a socio-technical approach. The motivation of this work is the need to bridge the knowledge and practise gap that exists because of the increasing complexity of cybersecurity threats and our limited capability of applying cybersecurity controls necessary to adequately respond to these threats. 2. 2. Disaster response and preparedness : Focus on hospital incident command groups and emergency department registered nurses

    Author : Jason Murphy; Anders Rüter; Lisa Kurland; Monica Rådestad; Ahmadreza Djalali; Birgitta Wireklint Sundström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; Sophiahemmet Högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Background: While disasters per definition are rare, incidents that cause mass casualties that threaten to overwhelm its limited resources are an ever-present risk. Disaster medicine is a specific discipline of medicine dedicated to providing adequate health care to patients of major incidents through the development of preventive-, preparedness-, response and recovery interventions. 3. 3. Aspects of Modeling Fraud Prevention of Online Financial Services

    Author : Gorton Dan; Lars-Göran Mattsson; Simin Nadjm-Tehrani; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Online banking; fraud; incident response; metrics; incident response tree IRT ; value at risk VaR ; simulation; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Abstract : Banking and online financial services are part of our critical infrastructure. As such, they comprise an Achilles heel in society and need to be protected accordingly. The last ten years have seen a steady shift from traditional show-off hacking towards cybercrime with great economic consequences for society. READ MORE

  4. 4. Molecular Quadratic Response Properties with Inclusion of Relativity

    Author : Johan Henriksson; Patrick Norman; Juha Vaara; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; relativistic quantum chemistry; molecular physics; clamping levels; four-component Hartree-Fock theory; Kohn-Sham density functional theory; response theory; nonlinear optics; second-harmonic generation; two-photon absorption; excited state properties; optical power limiting; Computational physics; Beräkningsfysik;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns quadratic response properties and their application to properties in Jablonski diagrams such as resonant two-photon absorption and excited state absorption. Our main interest lies in optical power limiting applications, and in this context, molecules containing heavy metal atoms prove superior. READ MORE

  5. 5. Economic evaluation, value of life, stated preference methodology and determinants of risks

    Author : Björn Sund; Lars Hultkrantz; Ulf Persson; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Cost-benefit analysis; value of a statistical life; contingent valuation; cardiac arrest; defibrillation; calibration; sensitivity to scope; risk communication; response times; incident experience; risk perception.; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; Economics; Nationalekonomi; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : The first paper examines the value of a statistical life (VSL) for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) victims. We found VSL values to be higher for OHCA victims than for people who die in road traffic accidents and a lower-bound estimate of VSL for OHCA would be in the range of 20 to 30 million Swedish crowns (SEK).
