  1. 6. Mixed fuels composed of household waste and waste wood : Characterization, combustion behaviour and potential emissions

    Author : Mar Edo Giménez; Stina Jansson; Jonas Dahl; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MSW; RDF; persistent organic pollutants; PCDD; PCDF; solid waste pre-treatment; torrefaction; food waste; contaminated wood;

    Abstract :    Incineration with energy recovery is the main disposal strategy for waste that cannot be reused or recycled, and a well-established source of energy in Europe, especially in Sweden where 2.2 Mtonnes of waste including domestic and imported municipal solid waste (MSW) and waste wood (WW) were combusted during 2015. 2. 7. Mechanical behaviour of a roller bearing steel : Strength differential effect, low temperature creep and propagation of short cracks

    Author : Irene Linares Arregui; Bo Alfredsson; Nils-Gunnar Ohlson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Fatigue cracks in bearings either initiate from the surface or from an inclusion below the rolling contact surface. Then, short cracks start to propagate. Short crack grow at considerably faster rates than long cracks subjected to a nominally equivalent stress intensity factor range. READ MORE

  3. 8. Suicidal behaviour and healthcare use among refugees

    Author : Ridwanul Amin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Background: Despite higher rates of mental disorders among refugees, there is limited evidence on their risk of suicidal behaviour (suicide attempt and suicide) and how such risk is influenced by differences in country-level structural factors (e.g., the national healthcare and social services, national unemployment rates etc. READ MORE

  4. 9. Internet-based cognitive behaviour therapy for women with negative birth experiences following childbirth

    Author : Josefin Sjömark; Agneta Skoog Svanberg; Thomas Parling; Margareta Larsson; Katja Boersma; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Internet-based cognitive behaviour therapy; negative birth experience; post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD ; PTSD following childbirth; randomised controlled trial; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Abstract : Childbirth can be associated with both positive and negative psychological reactions. The experience of labour and birth is subjective, multidimensional and complex including physiological and psychological factors. READ MORE

  5. 10. Complexation between hydrophobically modified polymers and amylose. Gelation and competition by surfactants

    Author : Monica Egermayer; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; rheology; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; inclusion complex; amylose; surfactant; ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose; hydrophobically modified polymer; hydroxyethyl cellulose;

    Abstract : Aqueous mixtures of hydrophobically modified polymers (HMP) with amylose have been investigated by rheology and 1H NMR. Amylose can cross-link HMP chains by forming single-helical inclusion complexes with the hydrophobic side chains of the HMP, leading to thermoreversible, elastic, and thixotropic gels at ambient temperatures.
