  1. 1. How can consumables be made more resource efficient? Environmental and resource assessment of measures

    Author : Siri Willskytt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Life Cycle Assessment; measures; incontinence products; resource efficency; LCA; consumables; circular economy;

    Abstract : The global population growth paired with increasing consumption per capita puts resource efficiency and sustainability on the political agenda. Consequently, the need for resource-efficient and sustainable products, including consumables, is expected to increase in the future. READ MORE

  3. 3. On the mechanics of pulp fibre networks - a combined numerical, theoretical and experimental study

    Author : Per Bergström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This work explores mechanics of fibre networks, especially for pulp fibre networks commonly found in hygiene products, such as baby diapers, incontinence and feminine care products, bathroom tissue and kitchen towels. Given that the main functionalities of these products are directly dependent on network configuration, designing these complex network structures for better performance, better utilisation of materials and less resources used requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of the structure and properties on the fibre level. 4. 4. Modelling Mechanics of Fibre Network using Discrete Element Method

    Author : Per Bergström; Tetsu Uesaka; Charlotta Hanson; Kaarlo Niskanen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Low-density fibre networks are a fundamental structural framework of everyday hygiene products, such as baby diapers, incontinence and feminine care products, bathroom tissue and kitchen towels. These networks are a random assembly of fibres, loosely bonded and oriented in the plane direction. READ MORE

  5. 5. Disperson and Flocculation in a Dry Mat-Forming Process

    Author : Robert Rundqvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The absorption cores in disposable nappies, incontinence pads and female hygiene products are manufactured by a dry mat-forming process. Cellulose fibers and super-absorbing particles are suspended in air and blown onto a forming wheel on which the cores are formed. READ MORE
