  1. 1. Benefits of Coordinating Plug-In Electric Vehicles in Electric Power Systems : Through Market Prices and Use-of-System Network Charges

    Author : Ilan Momber; Lennart Söder; Tomás Gómez San Román; José Villar Collado; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric Vehicles; Power Systems; Optimization; Elektrische Voertuigen; Energiesystemen; Optimalisatie; Elbilarna; Elkraftsystem; Optimering; Vehiculos Electricos; Sistemas de Potencia; Optimización; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Economics; Nationalekonomi; Industriell ekonomi och organisation; Industrial Engineering and Management; Energy Technology; Energiteknik; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Abstract : Both electric power systems and the transportation sector are essential constituents to modern life, enhancing social welfare, enabling economic prosperity and ultimately providing well-being to the people. However, to mitigate adverse climatological effects of emitting greenhouse gases, a rigorous de-carbonization of both industries has been set on the political agenda in many parts of the world. 2. 2. Acidaemia at Birth: Risk factors, diagnosis and prognosis, with special reference to maternal fever in labour

    Author : Andreas Herbst; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; andrology; gynaecology; Obstetrics; outcome; risk factors; perinatal asphyxia; acidosis; Acidaemia; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Abstract : Acidaemia at birth is a result of an impaired intrauterine gas exchange. Between 1988 and 1996, acid-base balance in cord artery blood pH was assessed in 23 016 of 27 064 newborns (85%). Obstetric risk factors for acidaemia (cord artery pH < 7.05) were identified in a case-control study. READ MORE

  3. 3. Life cycle assessment of transport systems and transport infrastructure : Investigating methodological approaches and quantifying impacts at project and network levels

    Author : Carolina Liljenström; Anna Björklund; Susanna Toller; Rolf André Bohne; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Strategier för hållbar utveckling; Strategies for sustainable development;

    Abstract : Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector is a key challenge to reach global climate targets and limit global warming to below 2 ºC. The use of life cycle assessment (LCA) may provide knowledge about the environmental impacts of transport systems so that emission reduction measures can be identified. READ MORE

  4. 4. Mobility and Multi-channel Communications in Low-power Wireless Networks

    Author : António Gonga; Mikael Johansson; Riku Jäntti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mobility; Multi-channel communications; Neighbor Discovery; MAC Protocols; Low-power Wireless Networks; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The prospect of replacing existing fixed networks with cheap, flexible and evenmobile low-power wireless network has been a strong research driver in recent years.However, many challenges still exist: reliability is hampered by unstable and burstycommunication links; the wireless medium is getting congested by an increasingnumber of wireless devices; and life-times are limited due to difficulties in developingefficient duty-cycling mechanisms. 5. 5. Networking as a tool for competitive advantage : evidence from Swedish new ventures

    Author : Sari Roininen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Entreprenörskap och innovation; Entrepreneurship and Innovation;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to increase our understanding of factors influencing new venture performance, and ultimately survival. The focus of this research is to study how network relationships, and a new venture's ability to initiate, develop and utilise the relationships that affect the firm's entrepreneurial strategy (here defined as the firm's entrepreneurial orientation) when seeking competitiveness.
