1. Automation of Computational Mathematical Modeling
Abstract : This thesis concerns the Automation of Computational Mathematical Modeling (CMM), involving the key steps of automation of (i) discretization, (ii) discrete solution, (iii) error control, (iv) modeling, and (v) optimization. The automation of (i)--(ii) is realized through multi-adaptive Galerkin methods on general discretizations of space-time with time steps variable in space. READ MORE

2. Acoustic time histories of vibrating partial sources
Abstract : The research in this thesis evaluates a method designed for separation of individual or partial sounds from multiple sounds generated by a sound source (e.g. a diesel engine). The sound of sound sources can be recorded to reproduce a sound event in an environment, just like a photo or moving picture can be used to illustrate a visual impression. READ MORE

3. Time-varying Waveform Distortion in Low voltage network
Abstract : The progressive advancement in new technologies has introduced new types of equipment into the grid. Some of these devices, which have gained significant popularity in the last few decades are photovoltaic (PV) systems and wind power systems from the generation side, and energy-efficient lighting i.e. READ MORE

4. Physical Activity and Eating Behaviour Changes in Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome
Abstract : This thesis aimed at developing and evaluating a tailored behavioural sleep medicine intervention for enhanced physical activity and healthy eating in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and overweight.Participants with moderate or severe OSAS (apnea-hypopnea index ≥15) and obesity (Studies I-II) or overweight (Studies III-IV), treated with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) (Studies I-II) or admitted to CPAP treatment (Studies III-IV), were recruited from the sleep clinic at Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden. 5. A Modular Tool Architecture for Worst-Case Execution Time Analysis
Abstract : Estimations of the Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) are required in providing guarantees for timing of programs used in computer controlled products and other real-time computer systems. To derive program WCET estimates, both the properties of the software and the hardware must be considered. READ MORE
