21. Analysis of plant growth regulating substances
Abstract : Natural plant growth regulators (phytohormones) are a group of organic compounds which, in very small amounts, act as regulators of physiological processes in plants. Methods were developed for the analysis of phytohormones in samples from Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris (L. READ MORE

22. Organomolybdenum Complexes in Organic Synthesis- New methods for the Preparation of Cationic Diene Complexes and Applications to Synthesis
Abstract : Indolyl substituted pyranyl- and cyclohexenyl molybdenum complexes were synthesised through stereoselective nucleophilic addition of indoles to the corresponding cationic 2H-pyran or cyclohexadiene molybdenum complex. Decomplexation of an allylic molybdneum complex by treatment with iodine gave 1-(4-iodo-2-cyclohexenyl)-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile in high regio-selectivity. READ MORE

23. Analysis of melanins
Abstract : Mammalian melanins are of two major types, eumelanins and peheomelanins, which often occur together, then called mixed-type melanins. A method has been developed for analysing the various forms of melanins. READ MORE

24. Design & Synthesis of Protein Interacting Affinity Ligands and Protease Inhibitors
Abstract : There is a growing need of both protein drugs and synthetic drugs in the fight against many life-threatening diseases. The first part of this thesis deals with the design and synthesis of high affinity binding ligands for the purification of protein drugs. READ MORE

25. Interaction between auxin, cytokinin and ethylene in the regulation of root growth in Pisum sativum L
Abstract : The effects of exogenous auxins (indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D)), cytokinins (benzylaminopurine (BAP) and zeatin) and ethylene, applied as the precursor 1 -aminocyclopropane- 1-carboxylic acid (ACC), on the root growth of pea (Pisumsativum L.) seedlings were investigated.
