  1. 1. Advances in time–domain induced polarisation tomography : Data acquisition, processing and modelling

    University dissertation from Department of Biomedical Engineering, Lund university

    Author : Per-Ivar Olsson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2018-11-05]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tomography; Signal–to–noise ratio; Waveform; Duty–Cycle; induced polarisation; Electrical properties;

    Abstract : Vad står vi på – hur tar man reda på det? Kanske man kan titta på en geologisk karta, borra ett hål eller gräva en grop? Det kan gå bra, men ibland finns det inte tillräckligt detaljerade kartor och att gräva upp allt man är intresserad av är ingen lysande idé. Tänk om man kunde forska fram en metod som gör att man kan se rakt igenom marken, som röntgenundersökningar på sjukhus! På sätt och vis kan man redan det, man kan skicka ner ström i marken som berättar om hur där ser ut när den kommer tillbaka. READ MORE

  2. 2. From microstructure to subsurface characterization. Spectral information from field scale time domain induced polarization

    University dissertation from Lunds Universitet. Teknisk Geologi

    Author : Sara Johansson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2016-01-26]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Geofysik; Inducerad Polarisation;

    Abstract : A large variety of subsurface infrastructure projects of different types can gainvaluable information from tomographic measurements of subsurface physicalproperties.With resistivity and time domain spectral induced polarization (IP),the distributions of the conductive and capacitive properties of the subsurfaceare obtained. 3. 3. Quantitative Spectroscopy of Gas Phase Reactions at Elevated Temperatures

    University dissertation from Lund Institute of Technology

    Author : Joachim Walewski; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2001]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fluiddynamik; Gaser; plasma; Maskinteknik; vibration and acoustic engineering; vacuum technology; hydraulics; vibrationer; vakuumteknik; statistical inference; Mechanical engineering; polarisation spectroscopy; diamond CVD; quantitative spectroscopy; hydraulik; gas phase kinetics; plasmas; fluid dynamics; Gases; Fysik; akustik; Physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Walewski;

    Abstract : Gas phase reactions at elevated temperatures are versatile tools for material manufacturing and energy conversion. They are of great commercial interest, but they often entail hazardous impacts on the environment. There is consequently a pronounced need for the further develpment of processes utilising these types of reactions. READ MORE

  4. 4. Regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria

    University dissertation from Lund Institute of Technology

    Author : Anna Martner; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2009]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gram-positive; Gram-negative bacteria; Streptococcus pneumoniae; IL-12; autolysin; pneumolysin; CD4 T cells; monocytes macrophages; dendritic cells;

    Abstract : Bacteria are classified as Gram-positive or Gram-negative, depending on their cell wall structure. The role of the bacterial cell wall in immune regulation is the focus of the current work. Most Gram-positive bacteria stimulate monocytes to produce large amounts of IL-12. READ MORE

  5. 5. Background Studies for the Balloon-Borne Hard X-ray Polarimeter PoGOLite

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Merlin Kole; KTH.; [2014]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : The polarisation degree and angle of the X-ray flux emitted by astrophysical objects holds valuable information on the responsible emission mechanisms and on the emission environments. PoGOLite is a balloon-borne hard X-ray polarimeter designed to measure polarisation using a segmented plastic scintillator array. READ MORE
