    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; taxane-induced pain; lifeworld research; pain assessment; caring; Caring Sciences; Vårdvetenskap;

    Abstract : Breast cancer patients receiving taxane chemotherapy run a substantial risk of develop taxane-induced pain, but little is known about women’s experiences of such pain. The aim of this thesis was to explore women’s acute and longstanding experiences of taxane-induced pain, to evaluate the pain intensity and distribution using different assessment methods, and to study nurses´ perceptions of taxane-induced pain in people with breast cancer. 2. 2. Mercury-induced autoimmunity : Genetics and immunoregulation

    Author : Monika Hansson; Manuchehr Abedi-Valugerdi; Marita Troye-Blomberg; Lucette Pelletier; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mercury; autoimmunity; collagen-induced arthritis; Th1 Th2; silver; tight-skin 1 mice; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Abstract : The existence of immune self-tolerance allows the immune system to mount responses against infectious agents, but not against self-molecular constitutes. Although self-tolerance is a robust phenomenon, in some individuals as well as in experimental models, the self-tolerance breaks down and as a result, a self-destructive autoimmune disease emerges. 4. 4. Myc-induced Lymphomagenesis : In vivo assessment of downstream pathways

    Author : Sara Rimpi; Jonas Nilsson; Juha Klefström; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Myc; lymphomagenesis; Aurora kinases; polyamine; glycolysis; targeting; mouse models of cancer; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : Myc oncogenes encode transcription factors that bind to E-box sequences in DNA, driving the expression of a large number of target genes and are deregulated in approximately 70% of human cancers. Deregulated Myc expression cause enhanced proliferation (which is counteracted by apoptosis), angiogenesis and cancer. READ MORE
