1. Design and Evaluation of a Compact 15 kW PM Integral Motor
Abstract : This thesis deals with the integral motor of tomorrow, and particularly with a variable speed, sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor with an integrated converter. The rated power is 15 kW at 1500 r/min. The outer dimensions are approximately the same as for the equivalent standard induction motor.Control strategies for pumps and fans, i. READ MORE

2. Thermal Modelling of Small Cage Induction Motors
Abstract : The loadability of electric machines is above all determined by temperature limits. In this work, thermal network models, suitable for totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) induction motors, are used to predict the machine temperatures. READ MORE

3. On Fault Detection, Diagnosis and Monitoring for Induction Motors
Abstract : In this thesis, multiple methods and different approaches have been established and evaluated successfully, in order to detect and diagnose the faults of induction motors (IMs). The aim of this thesis is to present novel fault detection and isolation methods for the case of induction machines that would have the merit to be implemented online and being characterized by specific novel capabilities, when compared with the existing techniques. 4. Robust Control of an Induction Motor Drive
Abstract : This thesis considers robust control of an induction motor drive, consisting of an input filter, a voltage source inverter and one or several induction motors in parallel. The motor torque is here controlled by using the method Indirect Self Control (ISC), and power oscillations between the inverter and the input filter are damped by means of a stabilization controller in an outer feedback loop. 5. On Control of Back-to-Back Converters and Sensorless Induction Machine Drives
Abstract : This thesis focuses on design and analysis of the control system structure for back-to-back converter squirrel-cage induction machine drives. Particularly, sensorless control of induction machines, meaning vector control without a mechanical shaft sensor, and vector control of pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) rectifiers are considered. READ MORE
