  1. 16. Gill EROD Activity in Fish : A Biomarker for Waterborne Ah-receptor Agonists

    Author : Alexandra Abrahamson; Ingvar Brandt; Björn Brunström; Janneche Utne Skaare; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Biology; biomarker; fish; gill; CYP1A; EROD; environmental monitoring; induction; inhibition; PAH; PCB; produced water; Biologi;

    Abstract : Induction of the cytochrome P450(CYP)1A protein and the connected increase in 7-ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase (EROD) activity are common biomarkers in fish. Enhanced activity of this protein signals exposure to Ah-receptor agonists such as chlorinated dioxins, co-planar polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and certain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). 2. 17. Management and women's experiences of pregnancies lasting more than 41 gestational weeks

    Author : Anna Wessberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; experiences; hermeneutic; induction; late-term pregnancy; lifeworld; midwifery; perinatal mortality; ; phenomenology; postterm pregnancy; prenatal care; transition;

    Abstract : It is well known that the risks for complications of both the foetus and the mother increase in post-term pregnancy. To date, there is no uniform worldwide guideline for when to induce a pregnant woman who has passed her estimated due date. Little research has been conducted about women’s own experiences of a pregnancy ≥41 gestational weeks. READ MORE

  3. 18. Industrial Induction Heating - with a focus on multi coil solutions

    Author : Kenneth Frogner; Industriell Produktion; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Induction heating; travelling wave; industrial heating; multi coil; TWIH; SM2C;

    Abstract : Most types of materials and components use heating during the manufacturing process, with a large potential for cost and energy savings. Induction heating is the most energy efficient industrial heating technology for many applications, but so far technical limitations has delayed large scale introduction. READ MORE

  4. 19. Measurements and Modelling of Low-frequency Disturbances in Induction Machines

    Author : Torbjörn Thiringer; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Modelling; induction machine; measurements;

    Abstract : in this thesis the low-frequency dynamic behavior of the induction machine is analyzed. disturbances in the shaft torque and supply voltage are investigated theoretically, The calculated response to shaft torque disturbances is verified with measurements on a 15 kW machine. 5. 20. Cytochrome P450 enzymes affected by artemisinin antimalarials-pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenetic aspects

    Author : Sara Asimus; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : artemisinin; autoinduction; cytochrome P450; induction; inhibition; malaria; metabolism; pharmacogenetics; pharmacokinetics; probe;

    Abstract : With more than 500 million cases and at least 1 million deaths each year, malaria is a major global health problem. The main problem with malaria control is the emerging drug resistance among parasites causing the infection. Consequently, there is an urgent need for new drugs. READ MORE
