11. Tunable superconducting resonators, subharmonic oscillations and manipulation of microwaves
Abstract : In this thesis I present different types of manipulations of microwave fields using tunable superconducting resonators. A resonator is made tunable by adding one or more superconducting quantum interference devices, SQUIDs. The SQUID consists of a superconducting loop with two Josephson junctions and acts as a tunable nonlinear inductor. READ MORE

12. Microwave CMOS VCOs and Front-Ends - using integrated passives on-chip and on-carrier
Abstract : The increasing demand for high data rates in wireless communication systems is increasing the requirements on the transceiver front-ends, as they are pushed to utilize more and wider bands at higher frequencies. The work in this thesis is focused on receiver front-ends composed of Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Mixers, and Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) operating at microwave frequencies. READ MORE

13. Protection for Multiterminal HVDC Grids - A Digital Contribution
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to (1) enhance understanding of mechanisms that are important for the protection of high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) grids, and (2) suggest possible technical solutions. To that end, digital technologies were used both in simulation, as well as in a laboratory environment. READ MORE

14. Microwave CMOS LNAs and VCOs - Using Passives On-Chip, Above Chip, and Off-Chip
Abstract : The performance of LNAs and VCOs is of large importance to the complete wireless communications system. To achieve sufficient performance in microwave applications, LNAs and VCOs have therefore up to now mostly been manufactured in advanced and expensive semiconductor technologies. READ MORE

15. An SBU fully additive production approach for Board-level Electronics Packaging (SBU-CBM Method)
Abstract : The worldwide electronics market is focusing on developing innovative technologies that can lead to denser, more resilient, and tighter board-level integration. The consumer electronics market is trending toward miniaturization, with HDI-PCBs dominating. Electronics shrinking and scaling technology is the prime concern of all manufacturers. READ MORE
