1. Critical design activities in house-building projects : an industrial process perspective
Abstract : Dealing with planning accuracy respectively design errors is a big issue within construction. It has been argued that design errors are a major cause for waste in housing projects, despite all technical development. Reasons for design errors are well investigated and often relate to human acting. READ MORE

2. Industrial Fibre Concrete Floors : Experiences and Tests on Pile-Supported Slab
Abstract : Pile supported floor slabs have often been designed solely in ultimate limit state ULS and then foremost with uniformly distributed loadings UDL. The investigation of serviceability limit state SLS has been of simpler nature, even according to the governing codes of practice. READ MORE

3. Exploring Anaerobic Bacteria for Industrial Biotechnology - Diversity Studies, Screening and Biorefinery Applications
Abstract : Depletion of easily accessible fossil energy resources, threat of climate change and political priority to achieve energy self-sufficiency and sustainable solutions prioritize a conscious and smart use of renewable resources to generate a bio-based economy. Bio-based compounds can replace chemicals and fuels that are now mainly produced from crude oil. READ MORE

4. Evaluation and Mitigation of Industrial Fire Hazards
Abstract : A tool suitable for conducting industrial fire and explosion hazard analysis is presented, together with an identification of weak links in the hazard evaluation chain. For some of the weak links additional research has been carried out. READ MORE

5. Strength grading of structural timber and EWP laminations of Norway spruce : Development potentials and industrial applications
Abstract : Machine strength grading of structural timber is a sawmill process by which considerable value is added to sawn products. The principle of such grading is that the strength of a timber member is predicted on the basis of a so called indicating property (IP) which, in general, represents an averaged value of the modulus of elasticity (MOE) measured over a board length of about one meter or more.
