  2. 2. Exploring Anaerobic Bacteria for Industrial Biotechnology - Diversity Studies, Screening and Biorefinery Applications

    Author : Rosa Aragao; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Anaerobic bacteria; industrial biotechnology; biorefinery; microbial diversity; single cell entrapment; llama rumen;

    Abstract : Depletion of easily accessible fossil energy resources, threat of climate change and political priority to achieve energy self-sufficiency and sustainable solutions prioritize a conscious and smart use of renewable resources to generate a bio-based economy. Bio-based compounds can replace chemicals and fuels that are now mainly produced from crude oil. READ MORE

  3. 3. Policy Mixes for Industrial Transformation: Lessons from Finland and Sweden

    Author : Barbara Hedeler; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; value chains; industrial transformation; transformative innovation policies; process industry; policy mix; biofuels;

    Abstract : An accelerated transition of the existing industry sectors towards low-carbon and renewable energy technologies is crucial to achieving global climate targets and national net zero emission commitments. This thesis departs from the notion that many governments increasingly emphasise the possibilities of combining such a transformation with domestic “green growth”. READ MORE

  4. 4. Lean Transformation of Industrial Work : Understanding What Supports Socially Sustainable Working Conditions During Lean Manufacturing

    Abstract : The direct variable costs for heat and electricity production based on solid biomass fuel combustion is approximately 3-5 times lower than the costs in a fossil fuel-oil based boiler in Sweden. In addition waste derived biomass fuels are typically much cheaper than biomass not classified as waste. READ MORE
