  1. 1. Oxidation of terpenes in indoor environments : A study of influencing factors

    Author : Linda Pommer; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; Monoterpene; Ozone O3 ; Nitrogen dioxide NO2 ; Nitrogen oxide NO ; Relative humidity RH ; Modelling; Scrubber; Experimental design; Interaction; Volatile organic compounds VOC ; Sick buildings syndrome SBS ; Principal component analysis PCA ; Indoor air; Ventilation; Tenax TA; Sodium sulphite; Miljökemi; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry;

    Abstract : In this thesis the oxidation of monoterpenes by O3 and NO2 and factors that influenced the oxidation were studied. In the environment both ozone (O3) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) are present as oxidising gases, which causes sampling artefacts when using Tenax TA as an adsorbent to sample organic compounds in the air. 2. 2. Benefits and use of myoelectric arm prostheses : outcomes, influencing factors and experiences

    Author : Cathrine Widehammar; Liselotte Hermansson; Kajsa Lidström-Holmqvist; Ingvor Pettersson; Kristin Østlie; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; upper limb; amputation; artificial limbs; rehabilitation; occupational therapy; environment; qualitative methods;

    Abstract : People with acquired upper limb loss or congenital limb reduction deficiency are often offered a myoelectric prosthesis to compensate for the missing hand. A common problem is the non-use of prostheses, and lack of training has been suggested as a reason for this. READ MORE

  3. 3. Molecular factors influencing nerve growth : studies on the developing rodent trigeminal ganglion and tooth pulp

    Author : Christina Lillesaar; Ted Ebendal; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : The adult tooth pulp has a rich protective sensory innervation from the trigeminal ganglion (TG). The developmental establishment of this exclusively nociceptive innervation is not fully understood today. READ MORE

  4. 4. Ground vibrations due to pile and sheet pile driving : influencing factors, predictions and measurements

    Author : Fanny Deckner; Staffan Hintze; Kenneth Viking; Sigurdur Erlingsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ground vibration; pile; sheet pile; prediction; markvibrationer; påle; spont; prediktion;

    Abstract : Ground vibrations due to pile driving are part of a complex process. Vibration is generated from the pile driver to the pile. As the pile interacts with the surrounding soil, vibrations are transferred at the pile-soil interface. The vibration propagates through the ground and interacts with structures, both above ground and underground. READ MORE

  5. 5. Surgery for ulnar nerve compression at the elbow : Focusing on factors influencing outcome

    Author : Alice Giöstad; Erika Nyman; Lars Dahlin; Gustav Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ulnar nerve compression; Simple decompression; Nerve transposition; PROM; Pain; Return to work; Spinal nerve root;

    Abstract : Ulnar nerve compression at the elbow (UNE) is a common peripheral nerve compression disorder in the upper limb. The literature regarding surgical outcome is inconclusive. READ MORE
