1. Time-Resolved Spectroscopy for Pharmaceutical Applications
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis aims at improving spectroscopic techniques for analysis of pharmaceutical solids. This improvement is achieved by the combining and development of instrumentations and data evaluation tools from two research fields: the fields of near infrared spectroscopy and biomedical optics. 3. Low-Energy Modes of Molecules and Atoms Chemisorbed on a Metal Surface. CO and O on Pt(111) Studied by Infrared Spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the investigation of low-energy metal-adsorbate vibrational modes of CO molecules and O atoms chemisorbed on a Pt(111) surface using infrared spectroscopy (IRS). The infrared selection rule states that only vibrational modes having a non-vanishing component of its dynamical dipole moment perpendicular to the surface can be directly excited using IRS, known as dipole-allowed modes. 4. Crystallization of Parabens : Thermodynamics, Nucleation and Processing
Abstract : In this work, the solubility of butyl paraben in 7 pure solvents and in 5 different ethanol-water mixtures has been determined from 1 ˚C to 50 ˚C. The solubility of ethyl paraben and propyl paraben in various solvents has been determined at 10 ˚C. READ MORE

5. Model catalysts studied by x-rays, visible and infrared light
Abstract : This work is focused on the study of transition metal model catalysts for gas-phase heterogeneous catalysis, studied with light-based in-situ and operando techniques.Metallic model catalysts, such as Palladium (Pd) and Iridium (Ir) single crystals and in minor part deposited Rhodium (Rh), were studied using a combination of x-ray and non x-ray techniques.
