6. Elimination of caffeine metabolites in man
Abstract : Plasma, saliva and urinary caffeine (CA), paraxanthine (PX), theobromine (TB), theophylline (TP) and their metabolites were, after separation into fractions by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), quantitated by capillary electrophoresis (CE). In healthy adults, 96% of the total amount of excreted compounds derived from CA were dimethylxanthines (DMXs) and metabolites, the remainder 4% being nonmetabolized CA and its non-demethylated urate. 7. Effects of acute metabolic interventions on hemodynamics, endothelial function and forearm glucose uptake
Abstract : Hyperinsulinemia is known to augment endothelium-dependent.vasodilation (EDV). If physiological levels of insulin lead to peripheral, vasodilation and if this vasodilation is an independent determinant of skeletal muscle glucose uptake is however under debate. READ MORE

8. Microplastics in the aquatic environment: Insights into biological fate and effects in fish
Abstract : According to the United Nations, plastic pollution in the natural environment has been identified as one of the biggest environmental challenges of this century and has become a cause for an emerging international concern. It has been predicted that up to 12 million tons of plastic waste reach the aquatic environment annually. READ MORE

9. Brominated flame retardants and perfluoroalkyl acids in Swedish indoor microenvironments : Implications for human exposure
Abstract : Humans are exposed to persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as brominated flame retardants (BFRs, specifically polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD)) and perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs, specifically perfluoroalkane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)). They are used in consumer products found in cars, offices, homes and day care centers. READ MORE

10. Investigations into the Effects of Turmeric, Cinnamon and Green Tea on Glycaemic Control and Liver Enzymes
Abstract : Lifestyle changes such as caloric over-consumption and decreased physical activity are causing overweight and obesity, leading to an epidemic increase in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Overweight, cardiovascular disease and diabetes are closely linked, and cardio-vascular disease is the most important cause of morbidity and mortality among patients with T2DM. READ MORE
