  1. 21. The Role of Causal Attribution and Self-Focused Attention for Shyness

    Author : Charlotte Alm; Erik Lindberg; Ann Frodi; Henry Montgomery; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Shyness; self-focused attention; behavioral inhibition; attribution; internal causes; external causes; Blyghet; självfokuserad uppmärksamhet; beteendemässig inhibition; attribution; interna orsaker; externa orsaker; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : Syftet med denna avhandling var att undersöka på vilket sätt och i vilken utsträckning blyga personer skiljer sig från icke-blyga personer med avseende på deras attributionsmönster. Resultaten från 3 kvantitativa och 1 kvalitativ studie visar en något annorlunda bild av hur blyghet relaterar till social kognition jämfört med tidigare forskning i området. READ MORE

  2. 22. Cognitive function studied in animal models of schizophrenia

    Author : Erik Pålsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; phencyclidine; nitric oxide; prepulse inhibition; latent; nitric oxide; prepulse inhibition; latent inhibition; habituation; NMDA receptor; rat; mouse; cognition; schizophrenia;

    Abstract : Cognitive dysfunction is considered a core deficit of schizophrenia, which currently lacks effective pharmacological treatment. In order to identify novel and more effective drug treatments, translational experimental animal models of cognitive dysfunction are required. Schizophrenia-like symptoms can be induced in humans by phencyclidine (PCP). READ MORE

  3. 23. Studies of native and Cd(II)-substituted carbonic anhydrases with special reference to their interaction with inhibitors

    Author : Lena Tibell; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbonic anhydrase; Cd II ; 113-Cd II -NMR; inhibition; catalytic mechanism;

    Abstract : The major aim of this work has been to gain further insights into the catalytic mechanism of carbonic anhydrase (carbonate hydro-lyase, EC 4.2.1.1). READ MORE

  4. 24. Experimental studies of spinal mechanisms associated with muscle fatigue

    Author : Ivana Kalezic; Vito Enrico Pettorossi; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : muscle fatigue; monosynaptic reflex; presynaptic inhibition; recurrent inhibition; fusimotor system; Fos-immunoreactivity; referral pain; kirurgi; Surgery;

    Abstract : Muscle fatigue is ubiquitous in every day life.Muscle fatigue might be considered as an altered state of motor behaviour, which impairs motor performance. By contrast, muscle fatigue could also be considered a positive phenomenon, which protects muscle tissue from damage that might be incurred to it by overuse. READ MORE

  5. 25. Micro-galvanic effects and corrosion inhibition of copper-zinc alloys

    Author : Mattias Forslund; Jinshan Pan; Christofer Leygraf; Per Claesson; Jin Ying; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Copper; zinc; brass; octadecanethiol; IR Spectroscopy; AFM; atmospheric corrosion; aqueous corrosion; corrosion inhibition; Koppar; zink; mässing; oktadekantiol; IR-reflektions absorptionsspektroskopi; AFM; atmosfärisk korrosion; vattenaktig korrosion; korrosionsinhibering.; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract :    With the advancement and accessibility of local probing techniques that can operate at the submicron scale it has become possible to analyse the local corrosion properties of industrially important metallic materials and relate these properties to microstructure characteristics of the same materials. In this doctoral study the focus has been on copper-zinc samples, both as industrial brass alloys and as micro-patterned copper-zinc samples. READ MORE
