  1. 1. Xylan sorption kinetics at industrial conditions

    Author : Espen Ribe; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sorption; Yield; Sorption conditions; Kinetics; Kraft cooking; Hemicellulose; Modelling; Black liquor; Xylan;

    Abstract : The kraft process is the most utilised method for the production of wood based chemical pulp for paper applications. During a kraft cook about half of the wood material is dissoluted into the cooking liquor making the liberation of individual fibres possible. This low yield is a great disadvantage for process economy. READ MORE

  2. 2. Educational inclusion for students with neurodevelopmental conditions

    Author : Emma Leifler; Göteborgs universitet; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

  3. 3. Modelling Stiffness and Damping by Use of Fractional Calculus with Application to Railpads

    Author : Åsa Fenander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stiffness; initial conditions; modal synthesis; time integration; measurements; fractional calculus; railway tracks; fractional integrals; damping; railpads; structural dynamics; fractional derivatives; mathematical models;

    Abstract : When studying the dynamic behaviour of a structure, e g a railway track, it is important for the analyst to model both stiffness and damping accurately. Mathematical models including fractional derivatives have been found to work well for many materials. Such models are linear and causal. READ MORE

  4. 4. Bending the Kuznets Curve - Wrenching and Levelling Forces during Agricultural Transformation in Taiwan and Chile

    Author : Martin Andersson; Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Chile; Taiwan; initial conditions; agricultural transformation; wrenching and levelling forces; the Kuznets Curve; Economic growth; income distribution; Social and economic history; Ekonomisk och social historia;

    Abstract : What are the effects of growth on equality in a long-term perspective? What are the effects of different patterns of equality on subsequent growth? And why are these questions relevant for the understanding of economic development? These are the overriding questions posed in the dissertation. They are addressed in the context of long-term change from economic backwardness to modern economic growth by examining the processes of agricultural transformation of two successful growth achievers -- Taiwan and Chile. 5. 5. Deltas Apart - Factor Endowments, Colonial Extraction and Pathways of Agricultural Development in Vietnam

    Author : Montserrat Lopez Jerez; Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Equality of Opportunity; Factor Endowments; Extraction; Agricultural Transformation; Initial Conditions; Rice Economy; Colonialism; Vietnam; Tonkin; Cochinchina;

    Abstract : This study provides an explanation of the different pathways of agricultural change and economic development in north and south Vietnam. It shows that pre-colonial factor endowments conditioned the development of the rice economies of the two deltas in Tonkin and Cochinchina. READ MORE
