1. Shear in Concrete Structural Elements Subjected to Dynamic Loads
Abstract : Concrete structural elements subjected to severe dynamic loads such as explosions at close range may cause shear failures. In the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 two concrete columns on the ground level were reported to have failed in shear. READ MORE

2. Initial Studies of Dynamic Responses of Female and Male Volunteers in Rear Impact Tests
Abstract : Whiplash Associated Disorder (WAD) - commonly denoted whiplash injury - resulting from vehicle impacts, is a worldwide epidemic. These injuries occur at relatively low changes of velocity (typically between 10-25 km/h) and in impacts from all directions. Rear impacts are however the most common in the accident statistics. 3. Stress response and virulence in Vibrio anguillarum
Abstract : Bacteria use quorum sensing, a cell to cell signaling mechanism mediated by small molecules that are produced by specific signal molecule synthases, to regulate gene expression in response to population density. In Vibrio anguillarum, the quorum-sensing phosphorelay channels information from three hybrid sensor kinases VanN, VanQ, CqsS that sense signal molecules produced by the synthases VanM, VanS and CqsA, onto the phosphotransferase VanU, to regulate activity of the response regulator VanO. 4. Anti-TNF treatment of chronic arthritis in clinical practice. New assessment method and predictors of efficacy and tolerability
Abstract : Abstract Treatment of chronic inflammatory arthritis has undergone major changes over the past years following introduction of targeted biological therapies. Tumour necrosis factor (TNF) blocking therapy has been the most important biological treatment of chronic arthritis to date. READ MORE

5. Optimal (Adaptive) Design and Estimation Performance in Pharmacometric Modelling
Abstract : The pharmaceutical industry now recognises the importance of the newly defined discipline of pharmacometrics. Pharmacometrics uses mathematical models to describe and then predict the performance of new drugs in clinical development. READ MORE
