1. Nanotubes for Battery Applications
Abstract : Nanomaterials have attracted great interest in recent years, and are now also being considered for battery applications. Reducing the particle size of some electrode materials can increase battery performance considerably, especially with regard to capacity, power and rate capability. READ MORE

2. Electrochemical characterisations of TiO2 nanotube and lithium-metal electrodes for lithium-based batteries
Abstract : Lithium-ion batteries have since their introduction on the commercial market in the early 1990s played an important role within the field of energy storage. In this thesis both titanium dioxide, TiO2, and lithium metal are investigated based on their properties as anodes for lithium-based battery technologies. TiO2 nanotubes with lengths between 4. 3. Structural, thermal and thermodynamic properties of some Ln-Pd oxides and their behaviour as catalyst precursors
Abstract : The structural, thermal and thermodynamic properties of some Ln-Pd oxides of the Ln4Pd07 type are presented. The main results are; (i) Reduction of Ln4Pd07, either ex-situ by CO or in-situ by a synthetic car exhaust gas, results in a materialwith catalytic activity for car exhaust gas clean-up reactions. 4. Novel bioinspired and biohybrid electrode materials for hydrogen production
Abstract : This thesis was accomplished under the scope of eSCALED project administrated by EU MSCA horizon 2020 program, which aimed to develop a device called “artificial leaf” responsible for generating fuels or liquid chemicals (H2 production or CO2 reduction) using solar electrolysis. My objective was to develop a noble metal free, efficient cathode materials for H2 production for the device which yield this thesis. READ MORE

5. Template-Based fabrication of Nanostructured Materials
Abstract : Materials prepared on the nanoscale often exhibit many different properties compared to the same materials in their bulk-state. Interest in nanostructured materials has increased because of these properties in fields such as microelectronics, catalysis, optics and sensors. READ MORE
