  1. 1. Development and evaluation of methods for control of multiple-input multiple output systems

    Author : Fredrik Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hold-input; Unreliable communication links; Decentralized control; MIMO systems.; Delays; LQG control; Input-output scaling; Control configuration selection; Gramian based measures;

    Abstract : In control, the most common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 2. 2. Entropy, information theory and spatial input-output analysis

    Author : David F. Batten; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Commodity flows; dynamic analysis; entropy; information theory; input-output analysis; probability distributions; regional and interregional modelling;

    Abstract : Interindustry transactions recorded at a macro level are simply summations of commodity shipment decisions taken at a micro level. The resulting statistical problem is to obtain minimally biased estimates of commodity flow distributions at the disaggregated level, given various forms of aggregated information. READ MORE

  4. 4. Allies Yet Rivals : Input Joint Ventures and Their Competitive Effects

    Author : Mikael Nordberg; Lars Hultkrantz; Mats Bergman; Tommaso Valletti; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Economics; joint venture; input; infrastructure; quality; oligopoly; Nationalekonomi; nationalekonomi; Economics;

    Abstract : Essay I explores the competitive effects of input joint ventures, more precisely the connection between horizontal product differentiation and competition. Four quantity-setting downstream firms jointly and symmetrically own two upstream firms in pairs. READ MORE

  5. 5. On the ICT Economy in the European Countries: Investigating the Contribution of the ICT Sectors Using the Input – Output Model

    Author : Ibrahim Kholilul Rohman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; input-output; ICT sectors; multiplier.; economic growth; structural change;

    Abstract : Previous studies have been devoted to investigating the future of economic growth and examining the importance of technology and the ICT sectors in accelerating the growth of the economy. These studies are from a macro perspective that emphasizes the role of infrastructure investment, as well as from the firm level analysis, which is mainly related to cost efficiency. READ MORE
