17. Techniques for Localization of Insulation Degradation along Medium-Voltage Power Cables
Abstract : Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) has been used for localization of transmission line discontinuities in diverse applications. Various challenges have to be addressed when applying TDR for localization of insulation degradation in power cables. READ MORE

18. Cellulosic Thermal Insulation with Improved Water Resistance and Fire Retardancy
Abstract : Sweden is one of the largest countries by area in Europe, and almost 70% of it is covered by forest. These abundant forest resources benefit the Swedish bioeconomy, but the pulp and paper industry is facing the challenge of a decrease in the demand for printing paper due to a significant shift to electronic media; therefore, it is a priority to use pulp to produce alternative value-added products, such as thermal insulating materials in buildings. 19. Voltage Stabilizers: From Design to Synthesis, Processing and Electrical Characterization
Abstract : Voltage stabilizers are additives capable of inhibiting electrical treeing; a degradation mechanism for insulation materials subjected to strong divergent electric fields. The intended use is in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) high voltage power cable insulation where minute defects in the manufacturing process can give rise to the conditions needed for the initiation of treeing, which in the worst case scenario leads to failure of the insulation system with blackouts and expensive repairs as a consequence. 20. Partial Discharges in Large Rotating Machines - Continuous On-line Monitoring and Localisation, Based on a New Developed Technique (InTech)
Abstract : Partial discharges (PD) that originate from dielectrically defective parts of the insulation system result in its degradation, which may ultimately lead to a failure of high voltage apparatus. This has resulted in development of numerous PD measuring techniques. One of the most widespread applications of PD measurement is in rotating machines. READ MORE
