1. Theoretical and computational advances in small-angle x-ray scattering tensor tomography
Abstract : The relationships between microscopic and macroscopic structures is a central topic of materials physics. Small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) is a powerful experimental technique for probing and mapping variations in electron density, given by the reciprocal space map, down to the nanometer scale in two dimensions. 2. Asymptotic distribution of zeros of a certain class of hypergeometric polynomials
Abstract : The thesis consists of two papers, both treating hypergeometric polynomials, and a short introduction. The main results are as follows. READ MORE

3. Tangential Derivations, Hilbert Series and Modules over Lie Algebroids
Abstract : Let A/k be a local commutative algebra over a field k of characteristic 0, and T_{A/k} be the module of k-linear derivations on A. We study, in two papers, the set of k-linear derivations on A which are tangential to an ideal I of A (preserves I), defining an A-submodule T_{A/k}(I) of T_{A/k}, which moreover is a k-Lie subalgebra. 4. The Bergman Kernel on Toric Kähler Manifolds
Abstract : Let $(L,h)\to (X, \omega)$ be a compact toric polarized Kähler manifold of complex dimension $n$. For each $k\in N$, the fibre-wise Hermitian metric $h^k$ on $L^k$ induces a natural inner product on the vector space $C^{\infty}(X, L^k)$ of smooth global sections of $L^k$ by integration with respect to the volume form $\frac{\omega^n}{n!}$. 5. Digital Geometry, Combinatorics, and Discrete Optimization
Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts: digital geometry and discrete optimization. In the first part we study the structure of digital straight line segments. We also study digital curves from a combinatorial point of view. READ MORE
