  1. 36. Species interactions and community structure

    Author : Peter Frodin; Technology and Social Change (WTS) Centre for Work; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; Ekologi; spatial structure; local stability; enrichment; species interactions; Community structure; population dynamics;

    Abstract : In this theses I have focused on how the mechanisms of species interactions affect community structure. It is well known that certain species may have a particularly strong influence on the structure of a community. What is not fully understood is how to characterize these species that have such a strong impact on community structure. READ MORE

  2. 37. Computer Simulations of Membrane–Sugar Interactions

    Author : Jon Kapla; Arnold Maliniak; Alexander Lyubartsev; Ilpo Vattulainen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular simulations; Molecular dynamics; Lipid bilayers; Carbohydrates; Biological membranes; Trehalose; Glycolipids; Membrane—sugar interactions; fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Carbohydrate molecules are essential parts of living cells. They are used as energy storage and signal substances, and they can be found incorporated in the cell membranes as attachments to glycoproteins and glycolipids, but also as free molecules. READ MORE

  3. 38. A new look at parenting during adolescence : reciprocal interactions in everyday life

    Author : Kari Trost; Håkan Stattin; Margaret Kerr; Rutger C.M.E. Engels; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Adolescent adjustment; parent-child relationship; parenting; reciprocal interactions; psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : In this dissertation I pose the question: Under what conditions are parent-child relationships linked to good, or bad, adolescent adjustment and under what conditions are they not? Study I focused on subjects with multiproblematic adjustment. It was proposed that multiproblematic adjustment in adolescence (as well as in late childhood and early adulthood) has to be seen in terms of individual and family characteristics early in life. 4. 39. Protein-Protein Interactions Affecting Protein-Surface Interactions

    Author : Peter H. Warkentin; Jeff M. Schakenraad; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The focus of this thesis is the behaviour of proteins towards surfaces in the presence of other protein species. General protein-protein interactions of some plasma proteins are investigated in the first four papers. The proteins, immunoglobulin G, albumin, and fibrinogen, are analysed in solutions of single proteins as well as controlled mixtures. READ MORE
