    Abstract : This dissertation explores the image of the ideal home in Sweden, an idea closely bound to the spatial dynamics of building norms and the outfitting of the domestic household, from the 1950s through the 1960s. By examining official, commercial, and consumer-cooperative ideals of housing and home, I attempt to understand and analyze correlations between various visions of the ideal apartment home and the social, political, economic, and cultural contexts in which they were conceived during the heyday of the Swedish welfare state. Abstract : Breathtaking Greenhouse Parastructures is a doctoral work that supplements the unfinished modern opus The Arcades Project [in German Das Passagen-Werk (Mit Bindestrich und Werk mit Capital W) ]. The supplement takes the form of a sculptural, historical, and technological deposition of ‘greenhouse’ that presently oscillates between a past-background and future-foreground to Walter Benjamin's ‘theatrical’ handling of the Parisian arcades. 3. 3. Al-7Si-Mg semi-solid castings – microstructure and mechanical properties

    Author : Jorge Santos; Anders E.W. Jarfors; Högskolan i Jönköping; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rheometal™ process; semi‐solid casting; aluminium alloys; grain refinement; segregation; intermetallic phases; heat treatment; mechanical properties;

    Abstract : The vehicles industry is facing increasing demands for fuel efficiency and cost reduction due to environmental legislation, sustainability and customer demands. Therefore, there is a great need to develop and produce lightweight components by using materials and processes that offer higher specific strength and/or design optimization. READ MORE

  4. 4. Semi-solid Al-7Si-Mg castings – Microstructure and mechanical properties

    Author : Jorge Santos; Anders E.W. Jarfors; Arne Dahle; Hongbiao Dong; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Rheometal™ process; semi-solid casting; aluminium alloys; dissolution; grain refinement; segregation; intermetallic phases; heat treatment; mechanical properties; fatigue properties; Rheometal™ processen; semi-solid gjutgarna; aluminiumlegeringar; upplösning; kornförfining; segregering; intermetalliska faser; värmebehandling; mekaniska egenskaper; utmattningsegenskaper;

    Abstract : The use of lightweight parts by the vehicle industry produces immediate benefits on the reduction of emissions because less energy is consumed during the production, service, and recycle stages of a product life cycle. Therefore, the development of processes that allow high design freedom for topology optimisation and materials with high specific strength is a great need. READ MORE
