1. Functional modelling of the human timing mechanism
Abstract : Behaviour occurs in time, and precise timing in the range of seconds and fractions of seconds is for most living organisms necessary for successful interaction with the environment. Our ability to time discrete actions and to predict events on the basis of prior events indicates the existence of an internal timing mechanism. READ MORE

2. It's complicated: : The role of timing in microbial community coalescence
Abstract : In recent years, the importance of historical contingency has been increasingly recognized in microbial communities. During community coalescence, immigration history, and dispersal history can become decisive for the developing community. READ MORE

3. Effect of timing training in golf and soccer players : skill, movement organization, and brain activity
Abstract : Background Although trainers and athletes consider ‘good timing skills’ to be critical for optimal sport performance, little is known in regard to how sport-specific skills may benefit from timing training. Thus, assuming that all motor performances are mediated by an internal timing mechanism, enhanced motor timing is expected to have positive effects on both planning and execution of movement performance, and consequently on complex sports actions as golf or soccer. 4. Securing functional programs with floating-label information-flow control
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis focuses on information-flow control systems for functional programs, particularly on the LIO library in Haskell. The thesis considers threemain aspects in this area: timing covert channels, dynamic policies andenforcement mechanisms that improve precision of the analysis. READ MORE

5. Language Support for Controlling Timing-Based Covert Channels
Abstract : The problem of controlling information flow in multithreaded programs remains an important open challenge.A major difficulty for tracking information flow in concurrent programs is due to the internal timing covert channel. READ MORE
