1. A Model of Driver Perception and Action in Intersections
Abstract : The objective of the research presented in this thesis is to describe driver behavior while approaching, entering and exiting an intersection. To fulfill this objective, two semi-naturalistic studies were conducted where ten driver participants drove a test vehicle through a three-way intersection repeatedly, driving straight, turning left, and turning right in a total of six possible passes. 2. Predicting Safety Benefits of Automated Emergency Braking at Intersections - Virtual simulations based on real-world accident data
Abstract : Introduction: Intersections are a global traffic safety concern. In the United States, around half of all fatal road traffic accidents take place at intersections or were related to them. In the European Union, about one fifth of road traffic fatalities occur at intersections. READ MORE

5. Reduction of Vulnerable Road User accidents in urban intersections: Needs and challenges in designing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
Abstract : Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) can be used to prevent accidents, or to reduce their severity. It is essential to determine what functional requirements such systems should fulfill to meet drivers’ support needs. An understanding of the underlying contributing factors and context in which the accidents occur is therefore crucial. READ MORE
