11. Drug absorption in the lungs : studies in the isolated perfused rat lung model combined with physiologically based biopharmaceutics modelling
Abstract : Pulmonary delivery of drugs is the preferred route of administration for treatment of local lung diseases like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Recently, there has also been increased interest in systemic delivery of drugs via the lungs to avoid problems with low and/or variable gastrointestinal absorption, and as a needle-free alternative for drugs that cannot be ingested. 12. Filament assembly and structural studies of intermediate filament like protein, FilP, in Streptomyces coelicolor
Abstract : The cytoskeleton, known as intracellular connected filaments, has a prominent role in cellular behavior, motility, and stability. The following three major types of polymers have been characterized as cytoskeleton in eukaryotes: microtubules that are 25 nm in diameter, actin filaments that are 7 nm in diameter, and intermediate filaments (IF) that are 10 nm in diameter. 13. Superhydrophobic coatings of wax and polymers sprayed from supercritical solutions
Abstract : The possibility of using supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as the primary solvent in a spray process for producing superhydrophobic surfaces have been examined in this work. Using scCO2 as solvent will have considerably lower environmental impact compared to an organic solvent since scCO2 is considered a green solvent as it is non-toxic, non-flammable and recyclable. 14. Studies of overcoming acquired resistance : molecular mechanisms and development of novel drugs
Abstract : Chemotherapeutic agents have become widely applied for treatment of various types of malignancies. Drug resistance unfortunately remains as a major obstacle for the effectiveness of chemotherapy. Cancer drug resistance includes two broad categories: intrinsic and acquired. READ MORE

15. Hybrid Solvents based on Ionic Liquids/Deep Eutectic Solvents for CO2 Separation : Experiments, Modeling, Process Simulation and Evaluation
Abstract : CO2 separation plays a vital role in reducing CO2 emissions to combat climate change, in which solvent-based absorption is widely considered the most promising technology. Many conventional chemical and physical solvents have been introduced for CO2 separation, still facing challenges. READ MORE
