  1. 16. Non-invasive EEG Functional Neuroimaging for Localizing Epileptic Brain Activity

    Author : Yazdan Shirvany; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Somatosensory Evoked Potentials; Forward Problem; Inverse Problem; Mathematical Dipole; Epileptic Spike; Functional Neuroimaging; Structural Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Particle Swarm Optimization; Source localization; Finite Element Method; Non-invasive EEG;

    Abstract : Epilepsy is one of the most common neurologic diseases in the world, and is present in up to 1% of the world’s population. Many patients with epilepsy never receive the treatment which make them seizure free. Surgical therapy has become an important therapeutic alternative for patients with drug resistant epilepsy. 2. 17. The Use of Landweber Algorithm in Image Reconstruction

    Author : Touraj Nikazad; Tommy Elfving; George Baravdish; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; convex feasibility; projection methods; simultaneous algorithms; iterative methods; stopping rules; semi-convergence; Numerical analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Abstract : Ill-posed sets of linear equations typically arise when discretizing certain types of integral transforms. A well known example is image reconstruction, which can be modelled using the Radon transform. After expanding the solution into a finite series of basis functions a large, sparse and ill-conditioned linear system arises. READ MORE

  3. 18. Summation-by-Parts Finite Difference Methods for Wave Propagation and Earthquake Modeling

    Author : Vidar Stiernström; Ken Mattsson; Mark H. Carpenter; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Finite difference method; high-order accuracy; stability; summation-by-parts; wave propagation; earthquake modeling; inverse problems; Beräkningsvetenskap med inriktning mot numerisk analys; Scientific Computing with specialization in Numerical Analysis;

    Abstract : Waves manifest in many areas of physics, ranging from large-scale seismic waves in geophysics down to particle descriptions in quantum physics. Wave propagation may often be described mathematically by partial differential equations (PDE). Unfortunately, analytical solutions to PDEs are in many cases notoriously difficult to obtain. 4. 19. Towards Joint Super-Resolution and High Dynamic Range Image Reconstruction

    Author : Tomas Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Super-resolution; Dynamic range; Human visual system; Inverse problem; Image reconstruction; Spatial alignment; Photometric alignment; Digital camera system;

    Abstract : The main objective for digital image- and video camera systems is to reproduce a real-world scene in such a way that a high visual quality is obtained. A crucial aspect in this regard is, naturally, the quality of the hardware components of the camera device. There are, however, always some undesired limitations imposed by the sensor of the camera. 5. 20. Numerical and experimental aspect of coherent lensless imaging

    Author : Erik Malm; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coherent diffractive imaging; Holography; Phase retrieval; Diffraction; Inverse scattering; XUV light; non-rigid image registration; Fysicumarkivet A:2021:Malm;

    Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the understanding, application, and extension of coherent lensless imaging methods for microscopy purposes. Particular attention is given to the Fourier transform holography and coherent diffractive imaging methods. READ MORE
