1. Preconditioners and fundamental solutions
Abstract : New preconditioning techniques for the iterative solution of systems of equations arising from discretizations of partial differential equations are considered. Fundamental solutions, both of differential and difference operators, are used as kernels in discrete, truncated convolution operators. READ MORE

2. Precise Reasoning About Non-strict Functional Programs; How to Chase Bottoms, and How to Ignore Them
Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts. Both concern reasoning about non-strict functional programming languages with partial and infinite values and lifted types, including lifted function spaces. The first part is a case study in program verification: We have written a simple parser and a corresponding pretty-printer in Haskell. 3. Some Resolvent Estimates in Harmonic Analysis
Abstract : This thesis contains three papers about three different estimates of resolvents in harmonic analysis. These papers are: Paper 1. ``A Wiener tauberian theorem for weighted convolution algebras of zonal functions on the automorphism group of the unit disc'' Paper 2. ``Uniform spectral radius and compact Gelfand transform'' Paper 3. 4. Error-Correcting Codes Based on Chaotic Dynamical Systems
Abstract : This dissertation treats a novel class of error-correcting codes based on chaotic dynamical systems. The codes are defined over a continuous alphabet whereas the information that is to be transmitted belongs to a discrete set of symbols. Simple expressions can be given for the encoders, and the codewords can be described by a parity-check relation. READ MORE

5. A class of infinite dimensional stochastic processes with unbounded diffusion and its associated Dirichlet forms
Abstract : This thesis consists of two papers which focuses on a particular diffusion type Dirichlet form where Here is the basis in the Cameron-Martin space, H, consisting of the Schauder functions, and ν denotes the Wiener measure. In Paper I, we let vary over the space of wiener trajectories in a way that the diffusion operator A is almost everywhere an unbounded operator on the Cameron–Martin space.
