11. Inverter Design for SiC-based Electric Drive Systems with Optimal Redundant States Control of Space Vector Modulation
Abstract : The need for inverters with ever increasing power density and efficiency has recently become the driving factor for research in various fields. Increasing the operating voltage of the whole drive system and utilizing newly developed SiC power switches can contribute towards this goal. READ MORE

12. Electric machine control for energy efficient electric drive systems
Abstract : Pure electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles are of increasing interest in the automotive industry, much due to challenges such as emission level legislations and the environmental impact of the transportation sector. When continuously striving for better performing and more energy efficient electric powertrains, with high drivability and redundancy, there is an ever increasing need for further research and development in the areas of controls, design and system level optimization. 13. Passive Island Detection of Microgrid by Grid Forming Inverter
Abstract : The supply reliability of a local grid will be improved if the local grid is managed as a microgrid, with the ability to operate in island mode when the main grid is temporarily unavailable. This thesis focuses on microgrids powered by inverter-based resources (IBRs), one or several of which need to be equipped with grid forming (GFM) capability for establishing and controlling the voltage and frequency of the microgrid during island operation. 14. Linear Time-Varying Systems: Modeling and Reduction
Abstract : Linear time-invariant models are widely used in the control community. They often serve as approximations of nonlinear systems. For control purposes linear approximations are often good enough since feedback control systems are inherently robust to model errors. In this thesis some of the possibilities for linear time-varying modeling are studied. READ MORE

15. Modular Battery Systems for Electric Vehicles based on Multilevel Inverter Topologies - Opportunities and Challenges
Abstract : Modular battery systems based on multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies can possibly overcome some shortcomings of two-level inverters when used for vehicle propulsion. The results presented in this thesis aim to point out the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the technical challenges, of modular vehicle battery systems based on MLIs in comparison to a conventional, two-level IGBT inverter drivetrain.
