16. Passive Island Detection of Microgrid by Grid Forming Inverter
Abstract : The supply reliability of a local grid will be improved if the local grid is managed as a microgrid, with the ability to operate in island mode when the main grid is temporarily unavailable. This thesis focuses on microgrids powered by inverter-based resources (IBRs), one or several of which need to be equipped with grid forming (GFM) capability for establishing and controlling the voltage and frequency of the microgrid during island operation. 17. Offshore Marine Substation for Grid-Connection of Wave Power Farms : An Experimental Approach
Abstract : Wave power is a renewable energy source with great potential, which is why there are more than a hundred ongoing wave power projects around the world. At the Division of Electricity, Uppsala University, a point-absorber type wave energy converter (WEC) has been proposed and developed. READ MORE

18. Microgrid Power Control Strategies: Enabling Distributed Energy Resources in Power Systems
Abstract : As the world continues to deal with the effects of climate change, the need for carbon neu-trality becomes increasingly urgent. To achieve this goal, many countries are exploring the potential of distributed energy resources to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and transition to renewable sources of energy. READ MORE

19. Electric Machine Control for Energy Efficient Electric Drive Systems
Abstract : Over the past decade, electric vehicles has increasingly become an area of attention for both academia and industry, much due to challenges such as emissions legislation and the environmental impact of the transportation sector. The absence of the broadband noise from the internal combustion engine brings new acoustic challenges for electric propulsion applications. READ MORE

20. Linear Time-Varying Systems: Modeling and Reduction
Abstract : Linear time-invariant models are widely used in the control community. They often serve as approximations of nonlinear systems. For control purposes linear approximations are often good enough since feedback control systems are inherently robust to model errors. In this thesis some of the possibilities for linear time-varying modeling are studied. READ MORE
