21. Systems Analysis for Eco-Industrial Development : Applied on Cement and Biogas Production Systems
Abstract : Our industrial systems are not sustainable—a major challenge which demands several types of responses. Eco-industrial development can be seen as such a response, with the goal to establish industrial systems that are both ecological and economical. Industrial Ecology is another closely related response. READ MORE

22. Neutron induced light-ion production from iron and bismuth at 175 MeV
Abstract : Light-ions (protons, deuterons, tritons, 3He and α articles) production in the interaction of 175 MeV neutrons with iron and bismuth has been measured using the Medley setup at the The Svedberg Laboratory (TSL) in Uppsala. These measurements have been conducted in the frame of an international collaboration whose aim is to provide the scientific community with new nuclear data of interest for the development of Accelerator Driven Systems, in the range of 20 to 200 MeV. 23. Defect Formation during Solidification in Grey Iron Castings
Abstract : The presence of defects is of major concern in the production of grey iron castings. Some defects are merely an aesthetic problem while others can be detrimental for the performance of the component. Among the several possible defects, shrinkage porosity is one of the more challenging to understand and avoid. READ MORE

24. Nanoindentation characterization of high chromium white cast iron for assessment of machining performance
Abstract : As modern production moves towards higher efficiency and cost effectiveness, machining difficult-to-cut materials becomes an increasing challenge. Quickly and reliably characterizing the properties of materials could significantly improve the performance of machining processes in terms of their efficiency and production cost. READ MORE

25. Fundamental Studies Related to Gaseous Reduction of Iron Oxide
Abstract : The demands for increasing the efficiency and lowering the environmental effects in iron and steelmaking industries have given rise to interests in application of direct reduction (DR) processes for production of iron by different gases. These advancements require comprehensive models for better control of the process conditions and the product properties. READ MORE
