  1. 16. Barshalder 2 : Studies of late Iron Age Gotland

    Author : Martin Rundkvist; Ingmar Jansson; Siv Kristoffersen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Barshalder; Grötlingbo; Fide; Gotland; cemetery; graves; burial; Iron Age; Roman Iron Age; Migration Period; Vendel Period; Viking Period; landscape history; gender; typology; chronology; seriation; correspondence analysis; social stratification; status; religion; paganism; Christianity; Christianisation; Archaeology subjects; Arkeologiämnen;

    Abstract : The prehistoric cemetery of Barshalder is located along the main road on the boundary between Grötlingbo and Fide parishes, near the southern end of the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. The ceme-tery was used from c. AD 1-1100. READ MORE

  2. 17. Biomimetic Iron Complexes involved in Oxygenation and Chlorination : A Theoretical Study

    Author : Holger Noack; Margareta R. A. Blomberg; Per E. M. Siegbahn; Martin Kaupp; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biomimetic; iron; density functional theory; intradiol; chlorination; adpic acid; diamond core; reactivity; Bio-inorganic chemistry; Bio-oorganisk kemi; Theoretical chemistry; Teoretisk kemi; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : Biomimetic chemistry is directed towards the simulation of enzymatic reactivity with synthetic analogues. In this thesis a quantum chemical method has been employed to study the mechanism of highly reactive iron-oxo complexes involved in oxygenation and chlorination of organic substrates. READ MORE

  3. 18. Iron catalyzed C-C coupling reactions - mechanistic investigations

    Author : Anna Hedström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; iron; homogenous catalysis; cross coupling; C-C bond formation; reaction mechanisms; kinetic investigations; competitive Hammett study; density functional theory;

    Abstract : The mechanism of the iron catalyzed cross coupling of aryl electrophiles with alkyl Grignard reagents was studied. The reaction proceeds via a rate-limiting oxidative addition of the aryl halide to an Fe(I) complex generated in situ. A transmetalation from an aryl Grignard reagent occurs either before or after the oxidative addition. READ MORE

  4. 19. CVD on Iron Powder - Using Fluidising Bed Techniques

    Author : Lars Nilsson; Industriell Produktion; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aluminium oxide; alumina; chemical vapour deposition; eddy current losses; FBR; iron; fluidising bed reactor; powder; SiO2; SMC; TiO2; Al2O3; soft ma etic com sites; CVD;

    Abstract : Today's electrical energy conversion devices, such as motors, transformers, inductors and generators, are based on laminated magnetic cores for reduction of eddy current losses, imposing a two-dimensional magnetic flux distribution. Using a three-dimensional magnetic flux distribution while maintaining low magnetic losses requires new approaches to magnetic core materials. READ MORE

  5. 20. Manganese and Iron Heterodimers and Homodimers in Enzymes : Insights from Density Functional Theory

    Author : Katarina Roos; Per Siegbahn; Margareta R. A. Blomberg; Frank Neese; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ribonucleotide reductase; manganese; iron; density functional theory; kemisk fysik; Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : The enzyme ribonucleotide reductase (RNR) catalyzes the reduction of ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides, the building blocks of DNA, and is essential for all organisms. Canonical class I RNR R2 proteins use a diiron cofactor to generate a tyrosyl radical, which is required for catalysis. READ MORE
