  1. 1. Driver Interaction : Informal Rules, Irritation and Aggressive Behaviour

    Author : Gunilla Björklund; Lars Åberg; Ralf Risser; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Driver interaction; Informal traffic rules; Driver irritation; Aggressive behaviour; Attributional biases; False consensus; Actor-observer effect; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : On a daily basis drivers have to share the roads with a great number of other road users. To make the driving task possible every driver has to take the intentions and behaviours of other road users into account. In other words, the road users have to interact with each other. READ MORE

  2. 2. The Role of Odor and Sensory Irritation in Human Chemical Sensitivity

    Author : Li Zheng; Birgitta Berglund; Staffan Hygge; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Odor and irritation detection; recognition; threshold; choice theory; intensity; chemical sensitivity; threshold; and sensitivity index.; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Abstract : The main objective of this thesis is to apply complimentary psychophysical theories and methods to investigate human perception of odor and sensory irritation of chemical compounds present in indoor air. Three psychophysical theories: Signal Detection Theory (SDT), Threshold Theory and Luce’s Choice Theory (CT) were applied to measure detection and recognition of odor and sensory irritation of two odorous irritants (pyridine and formaldehyde) by using the method of constant stimuli. 3. 3. Mesoporous magnesium carbonate : Synthesis, characterization and biocompatibility

    Author : Sara Frykstrand Ångström; Maria Strømme; Johan Gómez de la Torre; Natalia Ferraz; Mika Lindén; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mesoporous; magnesium carbonate; pore size control; cytotoxicity; in vivo; skin irritation; acute systemic toxicity; hemocompatibility; Ca2 uptake; solubility enhancement; Engineering Science with specialization in Nanotechnology and Functional Materials; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot nanoteknologi och funktionella material;

    Abstract : Mesoporous materials constitute a promising class of nanomaterials for a number of applications due to their tunable pore structure. The synthesis of most mesoporous materials involves a surfactant liquid crystal structure to form the pores. READ MORE

  4. 4. Clinical and experimental studies on oxidized fragrance terpenes as contact allergens

    Author : Johanna Bråred Christensson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : autoxidation; contact allergy; limonene; linalool; colophonium; limonene-1-hydroperoxide; limonene-2-hydroperoxide; 15-hydroperoxyabietic acid; 15-HPA; terpenes; local lymph node assay; LLNA; Freunds complete adjuvant test; FCAT; patch testing; laser Doppler imaging; skin irritation; visual reading;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis aims to improve the possibilities for diagnosing contact allergy to oxidized limonene and linalool and to, in patients, study contact allergy from structurally closely related hydroperoxides with regard to their specificity, potency and cross-reactivity. The fragrance terpenes limonene (from citrus oil) and linalool (from lavender oil) are widely used in household and industrial products. READ MORE

  5. 5. Activation and Regulation of TRPV1 : Studies in Recombinant Human Neuroblastoma TRPV1-SHSY5Y Cells

    Author : Johanna EL Andaloussi-Lilja; Anna Forsby; Antonio Ferrer-Montiel; Stockholms universitet; []
