1. A Detailed Modeling Study for Primary Reference Fuels and Fuel Mixtures and Their Use in Engineering Applications
Abstract : The aim of this work is to generate detailed and simplified kinetic models for the oxidation of the Primary Reference Fuels (PRF) n-heptane, iso-octane and their mixtures, with low numbers of species and reactions. These mechanisms are consistent in terms of the choice of kinetic parameters for the different reaction classes. READ MORE

2. Homogeneous Ignition - Chemical Kinetic Studies for IC-Engine Applications
Abstract : Calculations on a Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine have been performed. Zero-dimensional models were used. The simplest model compressed the gas to auto-ignition, using temperature and pressure at a certain crank angle position obtained from engine experiments. READ MORE

3. MULTICOMPONENT SPRAY-TURBULENCE INTERACTION
Abstract : Blended fuels are gaining importance in automotive industry owing to stringent legislations for emissions. It is important to understand the fuel spray formed as a consequence of injecting blended fuels into the engine (for direct injection engines) and also the influence of fuel spray on combustion properties. 4. Development of Zonal Models for Analysis of Engine Knock
Abstract : Autoignition in SI engines is an abnormal combustion mode and may lead to engine knock which is an undesired phenomenon in SI engines. It may cause damage and it is a source of noise in engines. Knock limits the compression ratio of the engine and a low compression ratio means low fuel conversion efficiency of the engine. READ MORE

5. An Experimental Study of a Spark-assisted
Abstract : Future requirements for reductions in fuel consumption and emissions from ground vehicles might be met by using the HCCI combustion concept, in which a more or less homogenous air fuel mixture is compressed to auto-ignition. This consumes less fuel than normal SI combustion and its ability to burn lean mixtures at low temperatures has a positive impact on exhaust emissions. READ MORE
